Apolyton Civilization Site Interviews Jeff
Morris talking with the associate producer on Civilization III, the next
installment in the series that spans from the dawn of civilization to the
far-flung future. The conversation gets a handle on the current state of
development, inquiring when it will go beta and the possibility of any public
testing to follow the game's current alpha status, a discussion of gameplay
elements, and a little about the past and the future of the series. Thanks Jonah
Falcon, who also points out this GamePen
blurb that mentions a Civ
III Special Edition is listed on the EB site in addition to the regular
version of the game.
A post to Promode.Org offers "Quick
notes on 1.29g, and a very cool trick with demos" following-up on
the recent release of the Quake III Arena version 1.29g patch. Since mouse
sensitivity was changed in the new release (they cover the argument over whether
this is now fixed or broken), they offer the key info that some unhappy folks
seem to be missing in the documentation on how to revert your mouse's behavior
back to the way it was under Q3A 1.17, 1.27h, and 1.29f by setting the
"in_mouse" cvar to -1, while setting it back to 1 will use the newer
(1.27g, 1.29g) mouse code. They also mention work on a " very
cool trick with demos" that allows a client record a single demo in
a one-on-one match that includes the point of view of each of the players.
Hot on the heels of the version 1.10 update ( story), a new version

for both the eye-candy of its 3D graphics and the blistering pace of its
non-stop action. The conversation covers the newly-added multiplayer capability,
the features of the new engine, the settings in which the sequel will be placed,
and even the "storyline" (which in the original Incoming, was
basically the title).
There's an Interview
with David Solari on Operation-FlashPoint.Dk talking with the senior marketing
manager at Codemasters about the upcoming patch that will add "2 new
vehicles and a new weapon, 2 single missions and 5 Mplay missions" to
Operation Flashpoint in the first of a planned series of updates that will come
out every couple of months to add new content to the game. The conversation also
covers other plans for the future of the game, including possible improvements
to the mission/scripting tutorial, whether the mission editor will be updated,
and more.

explanation of how their new system of resources allows the player to jump right
into the game from the very beginning.

Those who know me know I did not inherit my mother's love for cooking. I do
actually have my moments, I make some really top notch chili, and am competent
at about just about every kind of breakfast food (including perfect omelets),
but even when it comes to my specialties, I can only occasionally work myself up
to turning on the stove. That is until the last few days when on the Vet's
advice I have been cooking rice and chicken for Hudson the Wonder Dog to settle
an upset stomach she's been suffering with. So there you have it, for myself,
Hot Pockets in the microwave qualifies as cooking, but for the dog I become
Julia Child. I better work on her typing some more so she can take over my job
eventually -- at this rate she'll probably outlive me.
