Liquid Entertainment has recently released a new movie trailer of Battle Realms ( Flash required), showing off their upcoming 3D real-time strategy game set in medieval Asia. To download the 8.9 MB movie you first need to select the Dragon Clan entry from the snazzy scroll bar in the Explore section, and this movie features over two minutes of in-game and concept footage in AVI format illustrating, naturally, the Dragon Clan in the game.
There's a Dark Age
of Camelot Interview on Voodoo Extreme talking with Mark Jacobs and Matt
Firor of Mythic Entertainment about Dark Age of Camelot, their upcoming MMORPG.
The conversation is illustrated by a batch of screenshots, and offers both
introductory information and more elaborate detail for those already familiar
with some of what's planned for DAoC.
There's a Galactic Civilizations
First Look and Interview on Gamers Pulse with a brief preview of the
upcoming 4X space game based on a bygone OS/2 game of the same name, along with
a conversation with designer Brad Wardell, who discusses the reasons for the
remake, along with some of the details of what the game will include and how
game play will be handled. Also included are some Galactic Civilizations
screenshots.
AvPNews.com provides some welcome news on this quiet Sunday by posting a another batch of 21 new Aliens Versus Predator 2 screenshots, starting with the center image on this page, as well as a gallery of 21 concept images. As before, some of the screenshots have appeared in print magazines (and some of the concept art online too), but all offer more illustration of the second game, currently developed by Monolith, in the three-class first-person shooter series from Fox Interactive.
The first installment in the Dungeon Siege Developer Diary
on PlanetGameSpy.Com is online, penned by Gas Powered Games founder Chris
Taylor himself. In a departure from many recent diary entries we've seen that
don't actually describe development of their related games, this article offers
details on what they've been up to lately as progress continues on Dungeon
Siege, their upcoming RPG. Included are descriptions of the work currently being
done to add content to the game for its retail release, while they
simultaneously polish up the build that they are bringing along to show off at
E3.
3DActionPlanet
previews Aliens versus Predator 2 in a hands-off look at the upcoming sequel
to Fox Interactive's three-class first-person shooter currently under
construction at Monolith. There are no new screenshots included, nor any
significant new details to report for that matter, but the article does
summarize a good deal of what's currently known about the project.

- P4 CPU Throttling?
Hardware-Unlimited's
AMD Athlon 1.33Ghz DDR Review offers some interesting speculation that
some slowdowns they've seen in Quake III Arena benchmarking on Pentium 4
systems may be due to software and/or hardware CPU throttling.

The OpusWare
website has a new version 2.0 of the Hot CPU Tester utility.
The FAKK2 Multiplayer Beta

Ritual Entertainment's third-person Quake III-engine game that only offers
single-player play out of the box. The new release offers new scoreboards, a
re-worked menu system, two new player models, and more.

a Half-Life modification. The conversation discusses plans to release the mod,
which has been in production for a few years now, in various stages.
A report on Planet Command & Conquer

- The pay as you play servers are up at FraGisM,
currently offering Unreal Tournament, with other games planned to follow

- The Taldren website has
been updated with an amusing and startling recap of a recent episode where
company CEO Erik Bethke followed up on a promise to "eat dirt"
(literally) if their patch for Starfleet Command Volume II missed its
planned release date, which it did. Pictures are included (don't try this at
home kids). Thanks Bradley W. Schenck...
- The E3 scavenger hunt
page on rasta bbq network is funny, but probably quite playable too...
if you are attending the show, print out a copy and see how you score...
You wake up. The room is spinning gently around your head. Or at least it
would be if you could see it, which you can't.
It is pitch black.
I'm sure I'm not alone in still feeling shocked over
the death of Douglas Adams. A reader by the evil nickname of Satan thought to
pass along a link to the Hitchhiker's
Guide to the Galaxy game, which is the complete text-based Infocom game in
online form (Java required), which, in a bit of coincidence, I just referenced
the other day. Just remember... don't panic.
Link of the Day: Roshambot.
In case playing the Guide game is too frustrating, here's a simple online
version of rock, paper, scissors. Thanks SecretAgentMan.
Bonus Link: Geek
Test. Something you're even more likely to succeed at if you got housed at
rock, paper, scissors. Thanks Ant.
Even includes a Douglas Adams-related question.
Story of the Day: FedEx
driver arrested for dumping packages (King5.com). Thanks Lawrence Lin. When
it positively, absolutely, has to get there overnight (unless we have trouble
finding the destination).
Weird Science: Scientists Claim to Revive Alien Bacteria
(Discovery Channel). Thanks [MP] Wolverine [MP].
