things of interest to his lo'ness, and their rustlinesses, namely, the art of

GameReactor
interviews Mark Skaggs talking with the executive producer on Red Alert 2,
the latest installment in the Command & Conquer line. The conversation
covers the history and future of the RTS series, making comparisons to the other
C&C and R.A. games, while looking ahead to how RA2 will be different. This
edition of the interview has been pre- (or re-) translated into English.
Hazard Team HQ's
Elite Force interview is the English language version of this
German Q&A with Michael Raymond-Judy, Kenn Hoekstra, Joshua Weier, Brian
Pelletier and Jeff Dischler of Raven Software. They rounded this group up for a
"just for fun" chat (they want to clarify it was not meant to be, in
their words, a "super-informing-interview"), but they are doling out
the fun one portion at a time, as the inactive link to page two of four at the
bottom notes that this will be coming tomorrow.
Also in the realm of a Deutsch treat is this Oni
preview on SpieleCity, a German language look ahead at Bungie's upcoming
cross-platform fighting game. The preview includes some screenshots, and if you
want to check out the information included about the game, you can use the
translation efforts of Babel Fish.
Wireplay interviews Dave Georgeson,
the accessible senior producer on the TRIBES team about TRIBES 2. The Q&A

the sequel from the original Starsiege TRIBES.

The Tread Marks Downloads
page has a new version 1.5 demo for Tread Marks, the tank racing game where
a little fender-bender is never going to provoke a caution flag. The new
version, at about 40 MB, is considerably larger than the first demo (which was
closer to 20 MB), but since there is no read-me included, nor are any details
posted on the website, it is impossible to say specifically what has changed for
the new release. One thing is obvious enough: The demo splash screen reflects
the game's new publishing status, which, as previously reported is also noted on
the site ( story), where it says, "Tread Marks is now
published by AAAGame.com and is no longer available directly from Longbow
Digital Arts."
A story called Sacrifice Beta Patch Released on
Computer Games Online has details on the patch, which is posted
on FilePlanet. The approximately 3 MB patch will update the game to beta
version 0364.09.26, and adds new Slaughter, Domination, and Soul Harvest
game types, while addressing some bugs as well as some performance issues.
GameSpy.com's 20 Questions with Dr. Greg Zeschuk
resumes the series specifically subtitled "20 questions not about
your game." Dr. Greg is one of the physicians, who, along with Dr. Ray
Muzyka, founded BioWare, the software company that's made the transition from a
creator of medical education software to a game developer. The conversation
discusses Greg's and BioWare's past, present, and future, but true to the nature
of the series, does not delve into Neverwinter Nights, Baldur's Gate II, or any
of their other projects.

one ( story) Sharky Games'
Strifeshadow Interview Part 2 is now online, offering more conversation with
Tom "Zileas" Cadwell of Ethermoon Entertainment about progress on
Strifeshadow: Tournament Edition" Ethermoon's upcoming multiplayer-only RTS

There's a new Black&White screenshot
on Infolder.com, showing off what they call one of the last bugs remaining
in the upcoming god game, a clipping issue, as a villager gets up
close and personal with one of the game's minions (and I'm not sure he even
bought it dinner first). Word is not to worry should you find the accompanying
Dutch text confusing, as it doesn't offer any new information.
A new version 1.9 of the Coliseum
2 mod for Quake III Arena is now available. This mod is also known as
Lithium 3, as it follows in the tradition of the highly-configurable Lithium2
mod for Quake II, allowing control of many aspects of its enhanced gameplay,
which include the off-hand grappling hook, and four power-up runes. The new
version offers an export feature that will allow server operators to make server
tweaks without hand-editing them.
The FRAG 4 Coverage on the Adrenaline Vault rolls along with day
one, day two,
and now day three
coverage, included among the reportage of events and sponsor
tuchas-smooching is "word that Ritual's next project will not be for
Gathering of Developers" (though they add "This does not exclude that
they might be working with them on something else"), pictures of Karna's
next mouse and upcoming headphones, a Karna interview, a 3dfx interview, some
screenshots from the Half-Life Front-Line Force mod, a brief Randy Pitchford
(Gearbox) interview, a brief Tom Mustaine (Ritual) interview, interviews with
the competitors, and more.

Well, a mere 6000 signatures later, MrsBlue and I closed on our house, so
thankfully what has been a pretty hectic episode in our lives is nearing a
conclusion. I am greatly looking forward to the point a few weeks from now when
the moving portion of this project is completed, and I can start to settle into
a more normal schedule. Thanks for all that wished us luck on the endeavor...
I'm sure it must have helped.
