This Kohan
Q&A and set of screenshots on The Adrenaline Vault, discussing (and
displaying) TimeGate Studios' upcoming "real-time fantasy wargame."
The conversation is a sit-down with TimeGate’s Adel Chaveleh "for a brief
discussion about what will set Kohan apart," and there are nine new
screenshots on display, with a promise of nine more tomorrow.
Also noted on the The Adrenaline Vault
is news that Nival Interactive is planning on releasing a playable demo of Evil
Islands, "a real-time and turn-based strategic RPG in which users command a
small battle group that fights enemies with magic and traditional combat."
The release will be made available some time following ECTS.
Today at the drive-in movie...They came from ECTS:
Another new game announced on ECTS today is Warrior Kings, a 3D real-time strategy game by Black Cactus and Sierra. Warrior Kings is set in a fantasy medieval world, and draws comparisons to Shogun: Total War for its use of troop formations in a fully rotatable and zoomable 3D world. As lead designer Charlie Bewsher explained, economy plays a much larger role in this game though, as you start out as a castle lord with small village producing food and goods, and the goal is then to build an army, have your castle and villages grow to support it, and attack your opponents. As you makes choices along the way, you're following one of two paths through the game: good, or evil, although Charlie Bewsher also mentioned a third, technological path. The game looked quite playable already, though still a bit rough around the edges with a fair amount of fogging, but that is likely to be much improved by the time of its release next year. More information can be found on the Black Cactus website, and here are the details from the press release:
Good morning from ETCS. I just finished checking out NovaLogic's new title, Necrocide: The Dead Must Die, that was announced here in London. Necrocide is a mission-based, 3D action game that casts you into the role of a female vampire, and is being built on the same engine as Delta Force: Land Warrior, so it supports the same first- and third-person viewpoints. Despite earlier intentions to show a technology demo, the game was not yet ready for prime time, but the concept art I saw indicate this will be a much more character driven game, and it is altogether quite a change for the flight-sim builder of yore. Not much else is known about the game yet, but NovaLogic expects to reveal more in a couple months' time. Here is the main text from the press release:

The potential bachelor party last night turned out to have been a no-go, the
plans have been re-shuffled so that this is tonight... I'm beginning to be
frightened by some of the plans being suggested, but considering the
ineffectiveness of this group of guys to execute plans is demonstrated by the
postponement, it's possible this could be a pizza party. But we'll see. Oh
