MeccaWorld sent word of a Black & White movie that features Lionhead's Peter Molyneux being interviewed and giving a demo of this upcoming 3D strategy/god-game. The 42 MB download runs close to six minutes in length, and comes highly recommended as a way to give you a good idea what the game is about.
As promised, Lanced.net has posted their second new Starlancer image, showing off a detailed CGI cutscene. Not to be outdone, GameRush updated their Starlancer Weekly Shots page with not one or two, but four new screenshots from this upcoming space combat title.
Tactical Planet continues their countdown to the release of Delta Force 2 with a brief Q&A session with lead programmer Daniele Gaetano, as well as two new screenshots. Saw that on SpecForce.net. Among the topics covered is the game's built-in Voice-Over-Net tech:
TP: Did adding Voice-Over-Net technology increase the
lag for modem users?
Daniele Gaetano: Only if your modem's bandwidth is already maxed out -- and only for the people using it. If you're not currently speaking or listening to someone speak, you're not affected at all. If you have a fast connection, you should have enough bandwidth that you probably won't notice the difference.
Hakeem just took home first place at the FRAG3 Q3Test tournament by overcoming stx-wombat in a thrilling match 10-9 in sudden-death overtime. Hakeem takes home $10,000 US for his efforts, while reigning CPL champ wombat earned $5,000 for second place, and finishes the year as this year's CPL champion, as well. Third place goes to nB.fatality. The match had one of the most dramatic endings you could imagine, as wombat picked up the frag to tie the match with just five seconds remaining to force the overtime, which Hakeem won in sudden death. And in first-person shooters, it's really sudden death. Congrats to all of the participants (except for the REALLY nasty campers ![=]](/miscimages/smiley4.gif) ) for some great matches.
AVault's Frag 3 coverage page
has posted a Q&A with Gearbox Software's Randy Pitchford, talking to the
designer about his work on their official Half-Life add-on pack, Opposing Force.
There are four new screenshots up as well (thanks beN).
Gathering of Developer's Mike Wilson sent along a correction to an incorrect correction to
the story about the upcoming Blair Witch project game. It turns out that contrary to the
clarification that said the game would be a mission pack ( story), the original story calling the project a standalone Nocturne-engine
game was indeed accurate. Here's the scoop:
Whoever wrote that update for the Spookhouse about the Blair Witch game(s) must
have interviewed someone on too many "crushers" (the house drink of choice at
the party).
The Blair Witch games will not be mission packs for Nocturne with 'a Blair Witch mission'.
They will all be standalone games... more details to come in early 2000... but didn't want
the Spookhouse's misconception to be the 'word' till then.
There are a
bunch of new Soldier of Fortune screenshots on The Adrenaline Vault News to give a
feel for what's being shown off of Raven's upcoming mercenary action game at the FRAG3.
There is a new screenshot from Starlancer on Lanced.Net
showing off a large battle with a planet in the background. They plan on releasing another
new shot from Digital Anvil's upcoming space sim tomorrow afternoon.
There's an Unreal Tournament Demo
patch on Westlake Interactive to fix a problem some users have with the just-released
Mac version of the UT demo that causes it to crash immediately upon startup. The patch is
about 1 MB, but, of course, requires the 50 MD Mac UT demo. Thanks Davis Lentz.

So we made it to our final stop before returning home late tomorrow, as we're now here in
deep in the heart of Texas (Dallas). Our flight with a stop over was canceled, and the
flight we got to replace it was non-stop, ruining what would have ended up a streak where
loony and I would have been in three different cities each day for four days straight, but
the slight ease in travel nuttiness eases the pain of losing the right to lay claim to
such a non-distinction. As Mark Dochtermann's .plan reminds us, yesterday marked the first
anniversary of the completion of Sin. Thanks again to Cool
for the Halloween logo he sent last year, making its second appearance in honor of the
spookiest day o' the year (aside from the day your tax return is due).
Link of the Day: Welcome
to my home page ! Kiss you ! Interests "I like sex." Thanks Rich Matthews
Image of the Day: The new MS keyboard? Thanks .f00Dave.
