EA Announces Plans for The Sims Double Deluxe
REDWOOD CITY, Calif., August 26, 2003 - Electronic Arts (Nasdaq: ERTS) today
announced plans to release this September The Sims™ Double Deluxe, the
ultimate compilation of the top-selling PC franchise, The Sims™. The Sims
Double Deluxe delivers the original #1 PC game of all time, The Sims, as well as
The Sims™ Livin' Large and The Sims™ House Party expansion packs all in one
value-packed product. With the most Sims content ever assembled in one place,
now is the best time to join The Sims phenomenon.
The Sims, which originally launched in February 2000, is the wildly popular
game that allows players to create a neighborhood of simulated people known as
"Sims" and control their lives. The Sims Double Deluxe combines the
full version of The Sims with the first two expansion packs in the series. The
Sims Livin' Large allows players to put their Sim families into zany situations
and settings. Its content adds dozens of extreme items like a home chemistry
lab, heart shaped bed, and crystal ball, as well as a cast of wild characters
such as the Grim Reaper, Genie, and Tragic Clown. The Sims House Party opens the
door for players to throw the biggest bash, whether their Sims hoedown at a
country barn dance, chow down at a tropical luau, or go underground at a rave,
they are sure to rock the house. Additionally, there are numerous outrageous
items such as a dance cage and mechanical bull, as well as madcap characters
like a cake dancer and caterer.
The Sims Double Deluxe also includes The Sims™ Creator, a customization
tool for creating Sim characters. Players can recreate any Sim imaginable, right
down to the smallest detail. Users can also select new clothes, design original
attire, add logos to their clothing, and accessorize their Sims with belts,
ties, and jewelry. Players can even import their face into the program and put
it directly on a Sim character.
Rounding off this must-have collection, players can furnish their homes with
all-new bonus content including dozens of new walls, floors, and objects in
African and Asian design themes. For all current Sims players, this bonus
material will be available to download on http://www.thesims.com over the course
of four weeks beginning the week before launch.
Also included is a collection of game objects posted on http://www.thesims.com
since the launch of The Sims House Party, including a Carnivorous Plant and
Mistletoe that players can incorporate into their Sim universe. The Sims Double
Deluxe offers the perfect invitation to enter the world of The Sims.
