3DO Ships "Heroes(R) of Might and Magic(R) IV: Winds of War(TM)" Expansion Pack to Retail Stores Expansion Pack for Fantasy Turn-Based Strategy Title Now Available

REDWOOD CITY, CA - February 26, 2003 - The 3DO Company (Nasdaq: THDO) today announced that "Heroes of Might(R) and Magic(R) IV: Winds of War(TM)" for the PC has shipped to stores. In the second expansion to the best-selling fantasy turn-based strategy game, players battle fantastic creatures and face fierce armies across 45 action-packed maps.

"'Winds of War' is the most interactive 'Heroes' yet, featuring additional campaign editor capabilities, and six creature generators, as well as twenty maps created by fans," said Jon Van Caneghem, president of New World Computing. Can You Claim the Throne of Channon? In "Heroes of Might and Magic IV: Winds of War," players are transported to the land of Channon, a large and populous kingdom occupying most of Axeoth's northern continent. The shining capital city has become the target of no less than five invading armies who covet its lands and riches. Players assume the roles of five conquerors, each staging his own uniquely driven invasion, before facing a showdown for ultimate control.
