RULES
The
following Sweepstakes is intended for play in the 50
United States and the District of Columbia only and
shall only be construed and evaluated according to U.S.
law. Do not enter this sweepstakes if you are not a
resident of, and located in, the 50 United States or
the District of Columbia.
1.
ELIGIBILITY: NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
The UGO Galactic Civilization Sweepstakes ("the
Sweepstakes") is open to legal residents of the
50 United States and the District of Columbia thirteen
(13) years of age or older. Employees, officers, and
directors of UGO, their respective subsidiaries, affiliates,
distributors, retailers, sales representatives, advertising
and/or promotion agencies and the immediate families
(defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, and
grandparents) and household members of each of the above
are NOT eligible to enter or win. Void outside of the
50 United States and District of Columbia and where
prohibited by law.
2.
HOW TO ENTER: You may enter online by completing the
online entry form according to the instructions provided.
Only one entry per person/unique e-mail address per
participating partner will be counted. UGO is not responsible
for entries not received. No third party entry or entry
through Sweepstakes service permitted. No mechanically
reproduced entries will be accepted. All entries become
the property of UGO, and will not be acknowledged or
returned.
3.
ENTRY PERIOD: Registration for the UGO Galactic Civilization
Sweepstakes begins at 12:00 a.m. EST on February 21st,
2003. All online entries must be received by 1:00 p.m.
EST on March 10th, 2003.
4.
SELECTION OF WINNERS: The winners will be selected in
a random drawing held on or about March 10th of 2003,
from among all eligible electronic entries combined.
Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries
received.
5.
PRIZE: Five (5) winners will receive one (1) PC boxed
copy of Galactic Civilizations. All other
expenses not specified herein are the sole responsibility
of winner.
6.
NOTIFICATION: Winner shall be notified by e-mail and/or
regular mail and/or telephone on or about March 10th
of 2003. If prize notification or prize is non-deliverable,
the potential winner will forfeit his or her right to
be declared a winner and/or win a prize and an alternate
winner will be selected in his or her place. Any prize
will not be awarded after three attempts at winner selection.
The prizewinners' names may be posted on our site.
7.
GENERAL CONDITIONS: No transfer, assignment, cash redemption,
or substitution of prize permitted except as provided
herein. UGO reserve the right to substitute a prize
of equal or greater value or cash in the event the described
prize is unavailable for any reason. UGO also reserves
the right to: 1.) disqualify any person who tampers
with the online entry process, the operation of http://www.ugo.com
or any other component of this sweepstakes, or who is
otherwise in violation of the Official Rules, and 2.)
cancel this sweepstakes should virus, bugs, non-authorized
human intervention or other causes beyond the control
of UGO corrupt or impair the administration, security,
fairness or proper play of the sweepstakes and, in any
such event, select winner from eligible, non-suspect
entries received prior to event requiring such cancellation.
UGO, ("Sponsor"), are not responsible for
lost, damaged, illegible, postage-due, incomplete, late
or misdirected entries or mail, or for failures or malfunctions
of phones, phone lines, telephone systems, or transmissions,
interrupted or unavailable network, server or other
connections, miscommunications, failed computer hardware
or software or technical failures, garbled, misrouted,
scrambled transmissions, or other errors or problems
of any kind whether human, electronic or otherwise in
the transmission and/or receipt of entries. On-line
entrants must submit a valid e-mail address. In the
event of a dispute, e-mail entries will be deemed made
by the authorized account holder of the e-mail address
submitted at the time of entry. The authorized account
holder is the natural person who is assigned to the
e-mail address by an Internet access provider, on-line
service provider, or other organization that is responsible
for assigning e-mail addresses for the domain associated
with the submitted e-mail address. By accepting a prize,
winner agrees to abide by and be bound by these Official
Rules and agree that 1.) Sponsor and their parent company,
subsidiaries, affiliates, officers, directors, owners,
distributors, suppliers, retailers and advertising/promotion
agencies may use (unless prohibited by law) winner's
name, city and state of residence, photograph and/or
likeness for advertising and/or trade purposes and/or
for the purpose of displaying their name as a winner
without further compensation, permission or notification,
and 2.) The fore stated parties, and all of their respective
officers, directors, employees, representatives and
agents shall have no liability for and will be held
harmless from and against any liability, loss, injury
or damage of any kind, including but not limited to
personal injury, death or property damage suffered by
winner of any other person or entity that arises from
or in connection with the acceptance, possession, use
or misuse of any prize and any travel related thereto
or participation in any prize related activity.
8.
SWEEPSTAKES ODDS: The number of eligible entries received
will determine the odds of winning. Winners will be
selected in a random drawing held from all eligible
entries received. All drawings shall be conducted by
UGO whose decisions are final with respect to all aspects
of the sweepstakes.
