Arvoch Alliance Released
BOISE, ID, November 18th, 2011 -- StarWraith 3D Games LLC today announced the release of Arvoch Alliance, the sequel to its original 3D space simulator.
Arvoch Alliance lets players engage in the battles and events that lead to the liberation of the Evochron quadrant and a new direction for human colonization and exploration of space.
The game's single player story continues five years after the events of the original game in a diverse campaign spanning 30 missions. Events unfold in a variety of locations ranging from dense sensor restricting nebula clouds to hurricane force gas giant planet atmospheres. Players will be called upon to patrol, escort, mine, spy, capture, rescue, and even build space stations. Each mission begins with a stage based briefing and loadout menu that lets the player select the ships in their flight group along with the weapons and equipment for their own ship.
Adding to the immersive gameplay is the new tactical console, which provides the player with an overview on the status of all ships in sensor range and lets them quickly select a ship to target or issue an order to. Being able to monitor battle conditions lets players formulate their strategies and command decisions in real time while simultaneously engaging in intense space combat action. Players can build their skillset as both a space combat fighter pilot and a flight commander leading dozens of combat spacecraft into battle.
As flight commander, the player must lead their team of pilots into battle using available directives for attacking, defending, holding a position, regrouping, and repairing/reloading.
Arvoch Alliance features some of the most advanced space combat action available on the PC with realistic Newtonian style physics (which includes optional computer assistance for easier flight control), variable input support for a wide range of flight control devices (including HOTAS controllers and up to 10 simultaneous devices), extensive HUD and display systems to aid in real-time tactical decision making, diverse weapon and equipment options, adaptive AI skill/tactics, different environment conditions, multiple target selection options and subsystem tracking, 'cone-of-vulnerability' auto-aiming weapon system, defensive options including a proximity based countermeasure system and heat signature factor, pilot view control (including TrackIR), and more. The game provides many ways for players to develop their abilities and expand their tactics to keep gameplay fresh and challenging. Arvoch Alliance also includes spectacular new effects including blast waves, capital ships that break apart in pieces when destroyed, HUD movement tracking ladders, and multi-surface explosion animation.
New multiplayer modes round out the extensive gameplay feature set available in the game and includes Cooperative Campaign, Dogfight, Squadrons, and Strike options. Players can join forces together in true 'PvE' format to take on the game's campaign, unite in team-vs-team engagements, or take each other on in a battle for survival. The host can set a kill limit or a time limit for the Dogfight, Squadrons, or Strike modes and can also add AI controlled ships to fill in empty player slots. The multiplayer mode also lets the player set up battle scenarios to play on their own using the same mission options available to the host.
High sample rate, wide spectrum sound effects provide pounding weapon impacts and thundering explosions optimized for subwoofer equipped audio systems. The game's soundtrack includes music by Rich Douglas that changes with the level of hostility around you.
The game includes support for NaturalPoint® Inc.'s TrackIR™ head tracking system. A PC with TrackIR connected knows exactly where the player is sitting and looking, by capturing their head motion with all six degrees of freedom. Arvoch Alliance uses TrackIR’s unique input to control the view from the pilot's cockpit perspective, independent of keyboard, mouse, or joystick inputs.
Arvoch Alliance runs on the Windows® PC platform, including Windows XP, Vista, and 7. The recommended minimum system configuration for the game includes a 2.0 GHz processor, 128 MB 3D video card, and 1.5 GB of RAM. The game supports keyboard, mouse, joystick, and gamepad control options with remapping capability.
