Ubi Soft and Crave Entertainment Sign Worldwide Co-Publishing Deal for Battle Realms

UBI SOFT AND CRAVE ENTERTAINMENT SIGN WORLDWIDE CO-PUBLISHING DEAL FOR BATTLE REALMS

Ed Del Castillo’s New Jewel to Ship This Fall

LOS ANGELES, E3, May 19, 2001 UbiSoft® Entertainment and Crave Entertainment announced today a worldwide co-publishing agreement for the epic real-time strategy game Battle Realms on PC.

Developed by Liquid Entertainment, Battle Realms is a real-time strategy game set in a fictional land of honor and bravery. Powerful samurai and deadly archers face off against mystical magicians and dangerous ninjas in a world that draws its inspiration from both history and fantasy. Armed with a rich story and a robust 3D engine, Battle Realms combines a unique, living resource system and a detailed combat model to bring the strategy back to real-time strategy games. Battle Realms will be released in September 2001.

"With Battle Realms we hope to bring to market the most innovative real-time strategy game seen to date," said game designer and President of Liquid Entertainment Ed Del Castillo, best known for his contributions to the Command and Conquer Series. "For the first time you will see high-flying martial arts combat in a fantasy world of epic proportions. The depth of gameplay will more than satisfy fans of the real-time strategy genre while the beatiful graphics and 'Living World' will captivate anyone who picks up the game."

"We are looking forward to bringing this breakthrough game to RTS fans around the world," said Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubi Soft Entertainment. "Battle Realms is the kind of quality product that Ubi Soft is proud to deliver to gamers everywhere. This title further strengthens Ubi Soft's commitment to PC gaming and to the RTS category."

"This agreement expands our ongoing relationship with Ubi Soft," said Holly Newman, Executive Vice President of Crave Entertainment. "In matching Battle Realms with Ubi Soft we are bringing a dynamically innovative game to a quality-focused publisher with excellence in distribution and marketing."
