Out of the Blue

You know, I lapsed on a grand tradition here yesterday in failing to commemorate President's Day, the holiday honoring past leaders here in the U.S. The grand tradition, of course, is to remember those presidents who get less notice on this Washington/Lincoln-heavy event. Better late than never, I would like to honor Harry S Truman, who is the most recent of the nine U.S. presidents who did not attend college (a group which includes both Washington and Lincoln), and the only one in that category after the 19th century. He once called Nixon "a shifty-eyed goddamn liar" (Give 'em hell Harry!), but it's interesting to note that Truman's approval rating was actually lower than Nixon's at the time each left office.
