GamePolitics reports New York State Governor David Paterson has signed into law a bill to "ensure the State will explore the negative effects of violent video games." Of course it would seem that whatever exploration is involved has been done already, as they don't seem to grant the possibility that they would find positive effects. The law apparently has no real effect, so the ESA may not choose to challenge this in court. TV Debate on New York Video Game Law offers further discussion of all this.
