I was grinding coffee this morning when I noticed Hudson the wonder dog lying on the couch. This is a long favorite place of hers that she's no longer allowed to use, which doesn't stop her from occasionally pretending to forget that rule on the off-chance it has been rescinded. After taking advantage of catching her in the act to reinforce the laws of the land with a scolding, I realized the grinder was still running. I had ground about twice as much coffee as I intended, and those who have tried my coffee know I use about twice as much as a normal person would to start with. At least it helps serve as an endorsement for the industrial-strength coffee grinder I picked up close to two years ago: Even under extra duress it is holding up quite well under what is literally a daily grind.
