showing the
DOOM panel from QuakeCon 2015, though they note that part of
the discussion was not captured in the two videos.
PC Gamer has a write-up of the festivities, talking about the emphasis on
movement, offering a new tortured analogy for the gameplay they wish to create,
as id's Hugo Martin says players should "feel like Bruce Lee with a shotgun on a
skateboard." Apparently the speed of the game was the main focus of the talk, as
it is all PC Gamer's coverage discusses, saying the game's "glory kills," take
place in about "600-700 milliseconds," and the article's author says: "The
game's speed is so dialed up that major parts of it are taking place in
fractions of a second." They also report
Doom's
campaign won't have co-op support, saying that the only co-op in the game
will be created by users via the game's modification support.
