Eurogamer offers a postmortem on the development of BioShock called "Rapture leaked: The true story behind the making of BioShock," from a writer who took a deep dive to dredge up details on Irrational's shooter. This includes some dark moments early in the process where they were unsuccessfully demoing a version of the game set on a space station to a point late in the process where a focus group heaped their work with negative feedback. The interesting read contains loads of anecdotes from the developers covering inspirations, setbacks, crunch time, what when wrong, what went right, and more.
