The most recent mention here of Hudson the wonder dog was optimistic, as it seemed like her lost appetite was returning, but she pretty much stopped eating about a week ago. She was in pretty rough shape there for a while, and I was pretty sure she was looking for an out, but the vet determined that her heart condition had worsened, and put her on a new medication saying it should be able to return her quality of life in the short term (she's a 13 year-old purebred dog, so that's all we can expect of her anyway). I'm very pleased that this has indeed helped with her lethargy, and I've been able to get her to eat a bit over the past couple of days, which has us hopeful this situation has finally turned a corner. We saw the doctor this morning, who seems to feel the same way, as she says Hudson's heart sounds a lot better. It will be one of the saddest things I ever have to do to let her go, but as a wise, albeit fictional man once said: "And there is only one thing we say to Death: 'Not today'." Go get 'em, wonder dog!
