The Australian Classification Board has issued its guidelines (Adobe Acrobat format) on the upcoming addition of an R18+ rating to the Australian game rating system. This has lead to some criticism that the way this is being executed continues to "to treat adults like children." ABC News Australia has an article based on talking with the head of the local Interactive Games and Entertainment Association and a university professor to discuss the new law and its implications, including how this will allow the sale of some games that were previously unavailable, but will also make it harder for younger gamers to play some already available games.
