Borderlands is now available from
Direct2Drive (for North American customers only) and
Steam. Meanwhile,
Games On Net reports that Australian Steam customers are being served a "low
violence" edition of the game, but this is the wrong version, since the uncut
edition of the game has already been passed by Australia's stringent
classification board. They say "2k Games Australia is working with Steam to
resolve the issue in time for the game’s local launch in a couple of days."
Meanwhile, Gearbox
on Borderlands' End, Future on Shacknews is a chat with Mikey Neumann of
Gearbox about the game, discussing Steam, item rarity, how they used the PC
version's one-week delay, item trading, DLC, and more. When asked about the
probability of demo, he says it is still possible, but he doesn't sound
particularly encouraging.
