Doom was born on December 10, 1993, to the happy parents of I and D, more formally known as id. Doom, known to his friends as DoomGuy, had several older siblings, named Wolfenstein and (Commander) Keen. Eventually though, DoomGuy was no longer the youngest child after Skippy (aka QuakeGuy) was born.

Doom was an overachiever; he beat his older brother Wolfenstein in almost every category. While Wolfie (as Doom called him) was only smart enough to move in two dimensions, Doom was able to conceive of two and a half dimensions. His father, John Carmack, worked long and hard to teach Doom how to think in three dimensions. Unfortunately, Doom never learned that rooms can be over rooms, and thought that every room is only defined by a ceiling and a floor.

Besides being a 2.5 genius, Doom excelled in his social skills and was a weapons guru. While antisocial brother Wolfie never talked to anyone, Doom had three other friends, Ruddy, Brownie, and Indigo. To his close friends, he was known as Greenie. Although he knew how to use a telephone, he only talked to one person at a time. When he wasn't talking, he was fragging. Doom loved his shotgun, and especially his BFG 9000. In fact, he figured out how to fire his BFG without making a noise.

Doom's younger brother was born a bit prematurely on June 22, 1996. Soon, his new brother Quake began to outdo his older brother. While Doom only moved in 2.5 dimensions and had three friends, Quake knew that the universe was made of three dimensions. Quake was very popular; he had 15 friends, and when he was older, he had 31 fun friends.

Doom died in late July, just weeks after his brother Quake was born. The exact date is not known, but the reported cause of death was (Greenie) jealously of his new brother. His mother John Romero was saddened by the loss, and many of Doom's three friends mourned. Doom's brother Quake was apathetic. Before dying though, Doom mysteriously cloned himself many times. His clones still roam free, although they are dying slowly as well.
