If you want nice and varying scenery, you should try EQ, EQ2, AoC, LotRO and all the other, more complex, MMORPGs. More complex, that's a laugh.

It really does get a bit old that every building and cave is one of only two or three different models. There's nothing wrong with recycling art resources, but it would've been a more pleasant approach to recycle the building blocks instead of the whole model. Then again, they did at least make new layouts for both expansions, instead of just slapping new textures on the old ones.

Yeah, but he has a point, for using the same models and textures for everything. For the billions they're making, hire some more fucking people and update what's there with new stuff already. What do you expect? This game was totally simple right from the start. All caves look the same, there are only a few building models and generally everything looks the same with just different colors/textures here and there.
Most people love that look because its so simple and easy. They cant get lost because everything is the same, and even if you get lost you still have your map. They were successful with such a simpleton design, why should they change it now? They get huge amounts of money for very little work. Too bad that reflects on their balancing and customer support, as you can see right now.

It's the harbor in Stormwind. It's going to use the same architecture. If you want a different look go check out the Northrend screenshots (e.g. Dalaran, Crystalsong Forest, etc.). Also check out the Ebon Hold screenshots (aka Death Knight starting zone).
Some people... *rolls eyes*

Why in hell does every single castle in WoW use that same, boring texture set. Right down to the decorative trim. It's pathetic. I know the texture budget is slim as hell because it's an open world, but damn! I know it probably saves a tun of time on making expansions but jesus.
Hey it's a new undiscovered city that looks... just like Stormwind. YAY! *sigh*
