 Joystiq's "ultimate proof" article is a well-deserved swipe at the CNBC article it links to.

FWIW the Wii is bloody hard to find in the UK aswell, perhaps it is better in the Euro-zone but I think they're far from swimming in them. The problem is they massively underestimated demand and just don't have the manufacturing capacity. These things must require a fairly complicated process so there's always going to be a substantial tooling time & cost, and factories which are capable get capacity booked in advance.

    The article was tongue-in-cheek
I think the article was very fitting for some of the 360 vs. PS3 discussions that happen on the Consolidation section. In fact, I'm sure some of us have seen a similar argument on other boards but with the poster being serious about it.

After all, how does one "win" a console war?
I'm not an elitist, I'm a gamer - those lines that the PC or Console elitists draw are the boundaries of their ignorance.

The article was tongue-in-cheek... Besides, you just complained that I am a closet PS3 hater, so even if you didn't get the joke, it should at least help reverse that notion.

That makes more sense to me as the site just seems to be a blog about some kid who traded in his 360 for a PS3 with no actual information.

It actually seemed more like a joke article especially with a Dreamcast screen which went under so I thought it was a metaphor to the opposite of what this article was talking about lol ...

 Right now, I hear a lot of the problem in shipping is the weak US dollar. Nintendo makes more money shipping their systems and games to Europe so the US is getting a short supply.

Of course, they've also had over a year to get the supply straightened out, so who knows what the problem really is?
