Crytek announces the acquisition of Black Sea Studios ( Knights of Honor,
Worldshift), saying the Bulgarian developer will now be known as Crytek
Black Sea (thanks Gamer's Hell). Here's the deal: Crytek GmbH today announced
that it has acquired Bulgaria-based Black Sea Studios Ltd. Under the terms of
the acquisition, Black Sea Studios will become Crytek Black Sea, a wholly owned
studio. Black Sea Studios development team will remain in Sofia, Bulgaria.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
"We think the acquisition of Black Sea Studios is a great opportunity to
continue our strategic growth and expansion. Black Sea Studios already has a
very qualified and experienced development team in place and will be continually
expanded in capacity to join our tradition of producing highly innovative and
creative games which Crytek is known for.", said Avni Yerli, Managing Director
of Crytek
"Joining the Crytek family was a logical step for us as we think it is a perfect
match. We are confident that our team has the creativity and passion to further
contribute in creating innovative and enjoyable games. We are fascinated about
this opportunity and we are looking forward to work in this new exciting
environment as Crytek Black Sea." said Vesselin Handjiev, Managing Director of
Black Sea Studios, now Crytek Black Sea.

Another developer for Crytek who can make games that will :
- Sell way too few units - Because it's pirated by 600 billion people. - Which will make Cevat Yerli cry.

Knights of Honor is not a generic FPS. I'm pretty sure he was referring to Crytek.

Knights of Honor is not a generic FPS. It's a hybrid turn-based/real-time strategy game that was actually decent. The only problem I had with it was that there was a weakness in the otherwise-good AI that made it easy to beat most AI armies once one figured out the weakness.

A tradition so rich that it consists of two games, both which boil down to "not quite free-roaming, generic FPS with nice trees".
