At the MS E3 briefing Activision reveals that Guitar Hero: World Tour
will exclusively feature Van Halen and The Eagles, and will also offer downloads
of an exclusive REM track pack. They will also offer downloads of the GH edition
of Death Magnetic simultaneous with the release of this new Metallica album in
stores. The Metallica release will be for Guitar Hero III and Guitar Hero World
Tour, but it is not clear if a separate purchase will be required for each game.
Presumably this means rumors of a Guitar Hero: Metallica in the vein of the
recent Guitar Hero: Aerosmith are inaccurate. Here's some more of what
Microsoft announced at today's press event:
- The "first downloadable episode for Grand Theft Auto 4 later this year."
Contradicting rumors this would be delayed to 2009.
- Final Fantasy 13 will be making its way to the Xbox 360. "At long last,"
a first for the series.
- A whole new Xbox 360 interface, with Mii-like avatars and enhanced
social features.
More here.
- Geometry Wars 2 is coming next month as an Xbox LIVE Arcade exclusive.
- Galaga Legions, called a "true sequel" to the original, which was in
arcades over 20 years ago. Also a LIVE arcade exclusive due next month.
- Some sort of South Park game was teased in an odd manner.
- Lips is announced, confirming rumors of an upcoming Karaoke game.
- A Netflix partnership.

Again, why is Blue's News deviating so much from its general emphasis on PC gaming and posting a bunch of news that would only interest the console kiddies?
Not sure you noticed, but there's one or maybe two big PC titles a year now. It was news when Age of Conan finally dethroned World of Warcraft on the sales chart back in May, despite WoW coming out in late 2004.
If this site was only based on PC gaming news alone there wouldn't be anything to talk about.

funny how some threads discuss the post that started them, and some get 'jacked.
i never realy got the pc vs console debate. i remember back in a day(not "the" day), i got mortal kombat 1 and super mario bros on my pc. you couldnt play either realy. the controlls were different and bad. i then realized that fighting games and platformers didnt translate to a keyboard and mouse system. i also remember a day when i played my first fps on a console. who can aim with a d-pad?
different is as different does i think.

and posting a bunch of news that would only interest the console kiddies Come on man, don't generalize by assuming something that isn't true. It's like saying that WoW is only infested by kids. It seems that way because the idiots are the loudest while the wise keep quiet. Which in that case and most cases is half kids half grownups.
It's true that most people that visit Blues News are die hard PC gaming fans but a good percentage of us dig everything that is about gaming, and that includes console news related.
There might be lots of sites with Console news but I don't visit them. Blues News is and always have been the only gaming news site I've visited since its started.
One way or another, I have always found it stupid to put the console crowd in one corner and the PC crowd in the other.

Guitar Hero is one of the best games to come out in years. It is pure, simple, addictive fun whether you're alone or at a party. Easy to learn, difficult to master; it is one of the purest examples of true "gaming" to have come out in years. All this without amazing graphics or a deep plot.

Isn't the GH:WT port to PC confirmed? Since they already did the work for GH III's PC/Mac port, which uses the X360 hardware, it shouldn't be too hard to do again. If there's a definite Mac port for World Tour, I'll probably snag one of the GH III packages...

Again, why is Blue's News deviating so much from its general emphasis on PC gaming and posting a bunch of news that would only interest the console kiddies? Console users have a bazillion sites they can go to to get their fill of news about their favorite console and the games for it; I always thought that Blue's News was here to provide a PC-oriented site, except for their "Consolidation" sections (which make it easy to filter out). Now, here we are and today's page is seemingly almost all stuff about console games. Very disappointing...
