The Spore Community Website
now offers downloads of ParticleMan, one of the simple, playable prototypes
they've built to test subsystems they are incorporating into Spore, EA
Maxis' upcoming evolution simulation (thanks Mike Martinez) and
Kotaku).
Word is: "ParticleMan simulates gravitational attraction between particles in a
cloud. This system was used to study such gravitational dynamics as orbits,
nebula formation, star formation and particle streams from sources like pulsars
and black holes."

You really are dumb, aren't you?
You could have gone to teh site to have it all spelled out for you, or you could have done some thinking for yourself and thought up an explanation along the lines of: 'hey, they have solar systems and galaxies in Spore...maybe they used particle dynamics simulations to, uhm, simulate those?'.
In which case you'd be right.

InBlack: This is more about the space sim aspect of Spore. It's a prototype.
"What happens when we do... this! what does the system look like?"
It's a fun toy, it was probably made without any thought that it might ever be released.
I think it's cool that they're showing us some of the tools they used to put the game together. They don't have to, it's just a gift to people who are interested. Please don't try and turn everything in to a negative. Yeah, EA usually makes dumb moves, but they sometimes make smart ones, too (particularly Maxis when they get their way...)

What's he like? It's not important.
what really matters is that its ridiculously difficult to make phalli with this.

Seeing tech demos come out of Spore development is pretty cool, actually.
