 Yeah, it's pure gimmick. Granted, Capcom did the same thing with Marvel v.s. Capcom but at least they had a solid fighting system to back up that gimmick.

Back when I heard that MK was in for a reboot, I thought it meant they were going to completely overhaul the fighting mechanics and make MK an actual competitor to Virtua Fighter, Tekken, Dead or Alive or any number of superior fighters. Alas, all we get is a toned down MK with some nerfed superheroes tossed in.

I predict this will do nothing to improve MK's waning popularity. If any franchise was in need of a reboot, it was MK and this cheap gimmick isn't going to cut it.

 i think we all agree. i'm pretty hard pushed to think of a more ill-conceived idea.
