It's actually irrelevant to criticize Infinity Ward because TreyArch is the house behind CoD5. TreyArch is also the dev house that developed CoD3, which is why the game feels different than the other installments in the series. The publisher should be the target for criticisms for regurgitating another WWII shooter.
I, honestly, wouldn't mind a Forgotten War shooter.

Which of the Following are you more tired of:
a.) WW2 Shooters ]
b.) People bitching about WW2 shooters "A" for sure. It takes time and money to make a WW2 shooter. That time and money would be better spent making something unique.

A) WW2 shooters. The more people bitch about WW2 shooters, the more likely some developers will get the picture.
I would be slightly more OK with WW2 shooters if they weren't so damned Michael Bay about the subject matter. |

The only other Pacific based WWII game I can recall was Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, which was horrible. why exactly did you think it was horrible?

The publisher has already stated that work on CoD 5 had begun before CoD 4 was released, so they had no chance to take the positive reviews and acceptance into account. and your going to listen to a publisher of all people?

What makes them think people want to go back to ancient times, when the present time game was such a huge hit? The publisher has already stated that work on CoD 5 had begun before CoD 4 was released, so they had no chance to take the positive reviews and acceptance into account.

I'm intrigued by this one. Sure, it's WWII again, but this time it will be on the Pacific theater, instead of the ol' European conflicts. The only other Pacific based WWII game I can recall was Medal of Honor Pacific Assault, which was horrible. I hope this one does better, I'd be willing to give it a try.
By the way, the only part of MoH Pacific I liked was seeing the Arizona above water once again. She was a beautiful ship.
Call of Duty United Offensive was still the best WWII game made, so far. Let's see how Brothers in Arms comes out.

But what about WWII MMORPGs and fantasy shooters? Are they still okay?

There needs to be an industry-wide two-year moratorium on WW2 games and fantasy MMORPGs.
Ah, well. There's always COD 6.

This trailer gives me absolutely no reason to be interested in CoD5. The environments have "been there done that" quality to them, the effects are not particularly noteworthy (though they seem to be attemping to "showcase" the flame effects), the animations weren't convincing, and the voiceover is bland. There's no spark. It's like we're back to 2002 again. Does everyone remember that? When all the talent at 2015 abandoned ship to form Infinity Ward - but 2015 tried to make another FPS (Men of Valor) that just, well...missed the mark set by Allied Assault.
