6. useless benchmarks. Jun 23, 2008, 07:24 TorTorden

If the setup you use to gain those UBAR scores involves personaly optimized drivers and cooling solutions that one cannot expect to run for 4 weeks at a time with a minimum of attention from a user it just becomes a useless PR stunt.

It also shouldn't be much of a suprise that a core 2 duo is way more cpu than what is needed to run and operate xp\vista.

We are now back to the ancient routine of software limitiations.
But intel of course could never admit as much since their shareholders would throw a fit.

Nvidia's problem on the other hand is the lowest common denominator, the xbx360.
It's a sad fact but a fact nonetheless that 80% of games are now made for consoles, and then scaled down for the xbox wich doesn't realy sport any good arguments for 3 way SLI.

Nvidia is yapping again...

I'd like to see tests with a game such as Forged Alliance against 4 to 8 AI and then come back and say a quad core isn't needed.

"Most of what people do today with their computers requires powerful processors. Examples of processor-intensive applications include: creating content, viewing/editing high definition video, using social media sites, office tools, downloading music, and editing photos," Intel said in a statement.
I NEED MAH QUAD CORE EXTREME TO USE FACEBOOK TO IT'S POTENTIAL!
