Eurogamer
has word that Chris Taylor of Gas Powered Games has spoken of a third Dungeon
Siege game to Eurogamer Germany.
It seems clear this is forward looking as work progresses on Space Siege,
but Chris describes a vision for Dungeon Siege 3 that would have more of Space
Siege's single-player focus, indicating he's giving thought to how the next game
in the action/RPG series will play out.

As I get older I like my games that are slightly more cerebral and dungeon siege was never cerebral or entertaining to me. Amen to that. Though, I've never liked Dungeon Siege, Diablo or any of its clones. To call them RPGs is an insult to RPGs.

Id rather mister big talker would fix his other games first ala supreme commander fa - where the game slows to a crawl in skirmish multi with ai ( on good spec'd pc's ) see the forum. we have stopped playing since it gets so slow. Really dissapointing its an interesting game but the slow down makes play a nightmare . So waffle on mister CT im not interested gas powered indeed

Aww, and I liked my party members talking to each other in DS2. Especially Deru spewing all that nonsense.
I hated all the inventory management in DS1 and 2. I loved the autosorting. No more inventory tetris.

I don't care for games like Dungeon Siege. It's too mindless and a time sink with little entertainment value. As I get older I like my games that are slightly more cerebral and dungeon siege was never cerebral or entertaining to me.

Amazing, isn't it? The voices telling us that PC gaming market is going to be (almost) dead (due to piracy etc etc) are the voices of people who want to develop "simplified" PC games. Yeah, and I remember why... "to cater a larger audience" He is right though. Most of the time in the Dungeon Siege games your NPC party members would just get in the way, or get themselves killed by going where they shouldn't. You can claim that's just bad programming, but the reality is it's not that easy as it seems especially with the technology 6 years ago.
When it's a game that focuses on action more than the Role-Play aspect, it doesn't quite fit, while games like Baldurs Gate it worked better as it was a slower paced game.
Having to micro-manage gear/inventory/combat for other characters is a PITA most of the time.

I had a pretty good time playing the first Dungeon Siege in coop mode, but for some reason I never liked DS2. Coop in these kind of games is a must for me. I had lots of fun playing Diablo 2, Titan Quest, DS in coop mode with my friends

These folks are right... http://www.rpgcodex.net/phpBB/viewtopic.php?t=24542
"There will be some things that are very much like Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, but some things will be simplified. I am done with multi-character parties; I really think that it's all going to be about a single hero. It's too much to manage". (Chris Taylor)

I enjoyed Dungeon Siege, probably more to do with there not being much competition at the time though. DS2 I played briefly, but it didn't grab me, can't remember what I was playing at the time...probably WoW.
Space Siege looks...meh. DS3 will have to be pretty damned good for me to get interested.

3 Dungeon Seiges before the next Diablo! |

Count me in. Dungeon Seige gave me good memories. This and Titan Quest filled the Diablo-less void for me. DS2 .. had a feature where you can find certain runes or something in that matter that was UTTERLY useless to me. please, no more of that.
