RMT in The Agency [May 14, 2008, 8:37 pm ET] - Viewing Comments

Eurogamer has word that Sony is planning on using real-money transactions in The Agency, their upcoming MMORPG. The RMTs will be handled by Live Gamer, and will also be a part of Free Realms. The announcement is accompanied by speculation that the game may also use a free-to-play business model, but at this time that's just an inference they are drawing.

	Personally as a more casual mmog player these days, micro transactions are much more appealing to me so I can flit about between a few different games rather than be tied to a monthly fee. But I think they should be one thing or the nother, either just a monthly sub or just micro transactions.

	I have no idea what this means, instead of the standard copper, silver, gold and platinum we now will get Real Money as loot and this Real Money is required to buy food, weapons, armor and mounts? You would think having an article about a Real Money game would actually have a description of how it functions or maybe they don't know themselves? Trust me, most of the names I have been called you can't translate in any language...they're not even real words as much as a succession of violent images.

	The game sounded interesting and I had started to follow it, but damn, I haven't the slightest bit of interest in it now. That was a quick and thorough buzzkill.
