Battlefield 2142 Stats Server Upgrade [May 09, 2008, 10:06 am ET] - Viewing Comments

The Battlefield Website has news that the servers and other techie bits behind the Battlefield 2142 stats and accounts system has been upgraded:

Our stats system provider has been experiencing an unprecedented amount of load on the system that is being alleviated as we speak. In the past 24 hours they have:

-Quadrupled the load capacity
-Add several more server clusters to the server farm
-Improved back end efficiency of a number of processes
-Added several more load balancers to evenly distribute the services.

While we expect that these changes will largely restore connectivity and improve stability in a very short period, there may be periodic instability while we work to fully debug all of the work that has been done. Network engineers are working around the clock on these improvements and to accommodate the new load on the system.

We appreciate your patience during this time, and assure you that the changes made this week will make for radically improved stability and scalability for your titles in the immediate future.

	Hump maybe you had a problem with players cheating & using hacks but I didn't. I think the Titan mode had more problems with people clipping into boxes. Conquest mode ftw. More the issue I found was that my otherwise favorite server was team stacked in favor of the good players so they could boost their stats: ego boosting. Predictable behavior but nevertheless took away from the experience, no matter what side I was on. I still love BF2142, even though going back to it in the past couple days was a graphical shock compared with UT3, Crysis, and other more recent games.

	Like CoD4, any enjoyment i found in this game was quickly killed by the sheer amount of hacks/cheats playing at a given time. 	eh? it's the 6th most played pc game according to gamespy with 4700 players the patch is welcome but a bit late...I'll have to play it now that I have a much better pc

	I wish they'd just release a BF3. Take BF2's air combat, and 2142 infantry combat and merge it together. Or at least do a Booster Pack that adds decent aircraft to the game, similar to the Warthog in BF2's booster.

	Was testing the new 2142 beta patch and myself and many others were disconnected due to master server issues. Glad this is being addressed so quickly.
