No key combination is fast enough to quit a derek smart game.
Ooohhh, I went there.
we (game developers) might as well develop by committee and ask gamers how they want every aspect of the game to be done. Ahhhh ha, last time I checked you're supposed to be the one who needs us to buy your game. You really just don't get it, do you? You insist on gnawing the hands of your supposed fanbase. You don't get to tell us what we want.

Isn't that something best left to the end-user to decide? After all, from a developer's standpoint it shouldn't be a big deal to implement so why not go ahead and include it? I understand your point, but its not as cut and dry as that unfortunately JM. By your submission, we (game developers) might as well develop by committee and ask gamers how they want every aspect of the game to be done. Thats not how you do it. Just because you can't do it, doesn't make it wrong.
Instead of me typing it all up again, here..

@ Prez
Still, reading the review makes we want to buy it. Prez, please don't. Try the demo first and decide from there. The demo uses a near final game build, so there is no major diff from the final game.
Below are lists of mirrors.

You can't remap some of the controls because its not worth the hassles Isn't that something best left to the end-user to decide? After all, from a developer's standpoint it shouldn't be a big deal to implement so why not go ahead and include it? There are few, if any, games that I don't remap to some degree.

You can't remap some of the controls because its not worth the hassles.
Here, take a look at the game's controls and you tell me why you'd even want to remap anything. Note that you can remap the joystick and gamepad controller buttons.

Play the demo and make your own decision. Just because you can remap a game's controls, doesn't mean that you should do it.
Besides, he's talking about the ESC. Well, doh!, to my knowledge, there is no standard for what key to use how and when. Even the OS that we use does not have standardized keys for programs running on it.
In the case of ESC, I specifically do not use it for leaving the game because all too often gamers instinctively will use it, then prematurely exit the game. Which is why ALT+Q (quit), which requires two keys and a concerted effort to quit the game, is used by most games.
if I map my game to use the ESC key for something, its because thats how I want my game to be played. So, I don't care if a gamer wants to use something else. Part of learning to play a game is learning to play the game as the designers intended. Why is pressing ESC easier than pressing ALT+Q?
Anyway...
