Rein Q&A Part Two on Computer and Video Games continues their talk with
the outspoken Epic Veep about integrated graphics, Wii, the DS, and Vista:
"Well I think Vista will ultimately be good for games, it's going to get us
a lot closer to the hardware, much in the same way you can get significantly
more power out of an Xbox than the same piece of parts configured into a PC.
And that's partially because Windows wasn't designed for games originally,
so one of the things they've done is they now have Direct X powering the
desktop, so we have less competition between the GDI layer and Direct X for
resources. That's good. On the other hand I'm bitterly disappointed that
they're shipping a 32-bit version of Vista; I think that's very
short-sighted, I really don't see the point of it. I think they kind of
capitulated to Intel; you know Intel was going along really well making
64-bit chips until their original core chips which are 32-bit, and then I
think Intel put the squeeze on Microsoft and said 'we're still going to do
some 32-bit chips, you've got to do a 32-bit version'."
Legend: Hand of God RPG
Vault's Legend: Hand of God Q&A talks with Jan Beuck of master creating
about their upcoming action/RPG: "Legend - Hand of God is a 3D action
role-playing game in a new fantasy setting. After completing our work on
Restricted Area in 2004, we decided to stay in the same genre, but instead
of developing a sequel, we wanted to explore a new scenario. What sets
Legend further apart is that we have more than 10 times the budget, an
experienced team, and a new, outstanding engine."
The Rock Celebrity
Q&A Actor The Rock admits he's a gaming geek (thanks Neutronbeam) is a
Reuters Q&A with the wrestler-turned-actor also known as Dwayne Johnson
touching on Spyhunter: Nowhere to Run and his long-standing love of games:
"Hmmm. If I could buy something that I just can't buy it would be time.
There is so much to do and so many responsibilities. I always makes sure
that I have my Xbox set up wherever I go. I have one in my living room, in
my office, one in my trailer. So whenever it hits me, I can play the game
Madden '06 or '07. If I could play every day I would but I just don't have
the time. I know it is a little excessive to have one in every room just in
case it hits me."
