Dragon's Lair 3D:
Return to the Lair Goes Gold is the press release that the updated remake of
the Dragon's Lair laserdisc arcade game has gone gold for both the PC and the
Xbox, and both versions should be in stores by November 18. Here is part of what
the release has to say about gameplay: "True to the classic arcade
phenomenon, Dragon's Lair sets players against the menacing dragon Singe and the
evil wizard Mordroc to save the beautiful Princess Daphne. With full
control of Dirk the Daring, a valiant but clumsy knight, Dragon's Lair 3D
players fight their way through the castle's treacherous, labyrinthine-like
halls to overcome new monsters and obstacles lurking in the shadows.
Incredible new gameplay includes jumping over flaming pits, climbing ropes to
fly across chasms, and battling swarms of the wizard's minions with Dirk's sword
and crossbow."

Hazard: "Speaking of "stupid" fun, does anyone know wether Serious Sam 3 is in development? Since they've completed the XBox port, can I hope to see the sequel soon?"
It is in the works now. Try Seriously if you want to know more:

The site has left it's old address at Gamespy after having differences over some issues. Currently they are about to release a patch to improve the network play in SS:TSE. This new netcode is what will show in the next SS game.
*edit* Interview with Croteam covering many things including the upcoming game:

Dragon's Lair = Stupid fun
Mafia = w00t fun
There, clarified?
I am sure that SS3 is in the works. After all, they did state that the next/final game was coming when you beat SS2...
Both loving and hating that ending in Mafia...<!BLAM!>, Ray

Still, I would be semi-interested in a game that was still "stupid fun" , but that included some of the advances from the games of today.
Looking at the logo, wanting a Mafia sequel already , I hope these two statements were not meant to be related! Mafia is anything but stupid fun, its intelligent fun :).

Oh, and I'd also take a Mafia sequel

At the time, it was good for some "stupid fun."
It certainly grew old rather quickly, especially when they released nearly identical games with limited playability, not to mention how they have released it on, oh, every system ever made. Still, I would be semi-interested in a game that was still "stupid fun" :o, but that included some of the advances from the games of today.

well nationwide people played the heck out of this thing but then the novelty wore off fast so subsequent LD games (including DL2) tanked.

The magic of the original?? Didn't the original totally suck? I remember it in the arcades, it was always the game that people stopped to look at ("oooh, laserdisc technology") but nobody played.

...a demo. If they can capture the magic of the original, I might be willing to pick this up for $20 or so. If not, no loss...
Looking forward to Spearhead, Ray
