We hateis uplays

There is a way, what I do is create a manual system on all the console games ported to PC. Just find your save game directory, in this case: C:/Program Files (x86)/Ubisoft/Ubisoft Game Launcher/Save games/ <long code>/46

Make a save before a mission, your interested in like overthrowing a base or main story. Then copy it to a newly made folder (I usually use a date system, in case I get distracted by a new game and come back to it) 1.9.2014 . The saves look like this '1.save', once again I identify them, so in this case I could rename this one to '1.save.pre Dr. Earnhardt'. Then anytime you want to replay it, just delete the 1.save in the real directory, copy over '1.save.pre Dr. Earnhardt' and rename it to 1.save . It works for any of these console to PC games, Metro 2033 was another bad one.

The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country.

Yeah the save option allows you to save at a certain spot of the island. Allowing to stop the game at a specific place before stopping it or before anticipating trouble. the only thing I could advise her is to play the game herself. Not sure she's missing much tho as in my humble opinion the story is not the highlight of the game.
Otherwise the current system works for me. I find it hard to die often in the game except when I am being careless.

A buddy of mine loves watching me play games as well.. I have no idea why but he says its extremely entertaining to see me play (it's often FPS games which I would otherwise find extremely dull or MP games where I don't care who watches, but with someone watching its also kinda entertaining in itself.)

This way I actually played some games to the end that turned out to be fun which I dropped before. "Let me show you one of the worst games ever" is my usual start line .. and sometimes it turns out to be a good game after all ;p

Oh, and also Merry Xmas ,) For us Germans it's on the 24th ,p

I agree it's a total shit console inspired save system.

My sister enjoys watching me play games and she misses a lot of story due to them happening when she is not around. I would save and reload these parts for her, but that not a option with Far Cry.

I don't mind now you alway restart at safehouse or other 'spot' that much.

I have been enjoying the game thought, some good free from combat at times (sometimes, not so much).

I've just started on the second large island.

Simple answer to all your question and complaint parts: Consoles

You can now start to hate and detest: Consoles

The low memory on consoles is the prime reason for checkpoint saves that don't save shit. Did you never wonder why so many games for consoles don't remember what tree you destroyed, or what non-scripted building or vehicle you left destroyed where? It's because of console memory limitations.
And before you say, "but skyrim" .. yes, Skyrim manages to do it, but Farcry 3 is simply a port from consoles where the developer didn't bother to put in a proper save system not even for the consoles. So you can also blame laziness on developer part.

I think I've had it with Far Cry 3 and its saves. It is going to give me high blood pressure. Can't do it anymore with these kind of saves.

Why do we get the save system that we get in Far Cry 3? How is it enjoyable to use? You can save anytime except during missions, but are during missions not THE place you'd really like to save? How about getting down to the last 1 or 2 out of 10 guys to kill at a base, dying, and having to start the whole mission again from start (safe houses anyway, the ship Medusa had a checkpoint that saved after 5 guys were killed). 2 hours playing Far Cry 3, 8/10 guys at one base dead, I died on the last or second last guy and 2 hours of my time are lost. Wow, annoying beyond!!

Does it really make the game too easy if we can save when we want all the time, and be put back to the exact location of the save? The number of hours of repeated gameplay because of not being able to save is unbelievable! Are there not other ways they can make this and others games more difficult rather than forcing us to replay parts we clearly have already completed?!?!

Checkpoint saves challenge you by forcing you to repeat parts of the game over and over until you finish them, maybe with different strategies each time? Are there not enough bases and missions in the game that we can try a different strategy at the next one? Having to repeat gameplay I don't think challenges the player in the right way at all! it is supposed to be fun, and with checkpoint saves, it becomes annoying and frustrating having to play the way somebody else wants you to play.

I have not completed a hunting mission of killing 4 leopards with a bow and arrow. I got to 3/4 and the 4th killed me. This was on the third try after using 2 kinds of hunting syringes on two different attempts, and a lot of effort into it. Why should I go back and try to complete this mission again, it's ridiculous. I had 3/4 killed and now I must start from 0 again. I could SCREAM!!!! What a waste of time! How does needing to start from 0 again make me learn anything about how to better kill the animals in the game?

Secondly, why do we have to be put back to the nearest safe house or radio tower when we load a game? Why can we not save at any tree/car/river/etc., and load the game from this exact location again? It plays with your thinking of the gameplay (I don't need to start at a safe house, I'm refuelled and ready to go from my last game for example. I'd like to start exactly at the tree/car where I left off last time). This second one is beyond me, I do not understand it. I just leads to more than necessary driving or running around the map, which is ridiculous.

I don't understand how this save system in Far Cry 3 is not going to cause annoyances and frustration (or any other games' checkpoint-only save system)!
