Borderlands DLC? Yes, Demo? Maybe

The Borderlands Interview on Shacknews spoke with Mikey Neumann of Gearbox back in the old days of E3 about their upcoming cel-shaded shooter/RPG. They discuss the game's art design, dynamically-generated foes with baby arms, and his feelings that not all of today's game designs place the proper emphasis on fun. His comments on the current state of Borderlands seem a bit confusing, as at one point he indicates the game is currently in certification preparing for an October release leaving developers with nothing to do but work on DLC plans, and at another he says: "We would love to promise a demo, we can't quite yet, we just want to get the game done."

Read the interview, he was talking about level designers, the programmers for example are still working on the game, fixing bugs and whatnot.

"developers with nothing to do but work on DLC plans" if they have nothing to do, then why arnt they working on something that would promote their game? Like ie.. a demo??

Well, I hope they'll have time for a demo. I'm not sure about this cel-shaded design, I need to try it before deciding.

re; Demo. The ambivilence is probably brought on by extended exposure to what we call "empty suits".

its a debilitating disease but it can be overcome by limiting ones exposure to spineless white collar types. Smoking

also, since the game is designed more like an MMO, its probably difficult to package a demo that would give one a good idea of how the game would play in the long run.

I watched a japanese film called Vexville recently and thought it was pretty cool. The animation was semi cell shaded but more 3D. This is what I imagine Borderlands will look like. Really hope this game plays and feels like a Diablo 3D in a Wasteland universe.

Edit: You also can't help but get the feeling it will have that old west accent kind of like Firefly. I am actually looking forward to this title.
