EA announces The Sims 3 is their most successful PC launch ever:

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., June 9, 2009 – Electronic Arts Inc. because your incentive to legally buy the full game when you already have the full game pirated is exactly the same as if you tried a cut-down demo. Question: Everyone is fully capable of downloading pirated games. Why does anyone actually buy anything? You believe that a person won't buy a game they already have. In truth, everybody already has pirated games because they are, for all intents and purposes, public domain. All you have to do is download them. It's like having a game in your Steam list. It's always available to download at no expense to you.
