| The only reason they dared to mock fundamentalist Chistians in this way is because they know Christians are peaceful and won't do anything more than protest at how they're being mocked and stereotyped. I don't thing EA's marketing people would have dared to stage a fake Muslim protest in which they stereotype Muslims, though, because that would not be politically correct, and fundamentalist Muslims might resort to more extreme things than just a protest. |

With EA bastardizing one of the all time classic works of literature you really don't need anyone to fake outrage of their shoddy treatment of such a grand piece of work. It's just another pathetic entry into the long list of EA douchebaggery. |

You do give great head though.... Everyone keeps saying this, but I have to disagree. Maybe my standards are just too high. |

| I didn't pay much attention to whether it was fake or not. I didn't care, TBH. Gaming in a world with Jack Thompson and religious zealots, just about anything can be protested; logically or not. That being said, I read the story yesterday and thought "well, guys, if you're protesting this, then you might want to step beyond the veneer of gaming and see the real shit..." |

| Looked like parody to me, albeit weak likely due to an intent to avoid actually offending anyone. The AP doesn't quite spell it out but I read it as implying they weren't trying to fool anyone. |

Step 1: Stage fake protest that gets minimal coverage in the news. Step 2: Leak that the protest was faked. Step 3: AP covers story on fake protest getting more worldwide coverage. Step 4: Profit.
It's win/win. |

I wasn't so sure at first if this were a fake. Simply because there are so many religious zealots out there. Could have even been sponsored by our pal J.T. |

As if it weren't obvious that the protest were fake. One of the protestors' signs read "Cheat Codes won't save your soul". That kind of thing would only be written by a gamer (or at least someone involved in the gaming industry), and no gamer is going to be so clueless as to protest Dante's Inferno on a religious basis.

They get an AP story for a damn fake protest?!? EA acquired the AP in a hostile takeover late last year. |
