This somehow makes sense. It also relates to the reason all the developers were smiling in that Goodbye pic
Good stuff! And yes, it's pretty clear given the context that this guy isn't going for sarcasm Guess the kid never caught the bit where George Broussard supposedly wrote referrences for LinkedIn for his former employees.
If the tyke is indeed 12, I give him credit for keeping up hope, but I have to ask - why does he have an interest in DNF? He was still a creampie after DN3d was released!
3drealms.com is gone. Nope, it's still up and showing that stupid picture.

What I would like to know is how a company can file for bankrupcy and then NOT close? Filing for Chapter 11 is "Reorganization". Meaning creditors can't come after you while you submit a plan to the courts on how you are going to get the company viable again.
Filing for Chapter 7 is "Liquidation". Meaning close the doors and sell all the assets, which creditors get first dibs on any money coming in for the sale. |

Ask Chrysler, and maybe soon GM, they might shed some light on that for you. there are several types of bankruptcy, most common though is reorganization, which allows said company to stay open. |

This has been noted before but it bears repeating. If ever you needed good examples of "fanboy" and "delusional", head over to the 3DR forums. Spurred by curiousity, I stumbled across this particularly humorous case of over-analysis by a 12 year old in response to "are saddened to confirm that we let the Duke Nukem Forever (DNF) development team go on May 6th, while we regroup as a company,"
OMFG how bind are you people? Can't any of you see the play on words in that text JESUS CHRIST!!! They said they have let go the DNF team WHILE they regroup as a company! This means that after they are done regrouping they are going to hire them back! Then fanboi #2 comes along:

Some people need their religion, and whether that's Duke, Playstation 3 or Jesus doesn't seem to matter much.

| I knew they were not closing just up to some drama.I hope the former employees sue them for getting dumped.Getting rid of peoples jobs by lying to them is just wrong. |

I hate to admit it but I am loving this shit! How could any game live up to the last ten years of 3DR drama? And it's not even done. Not by a long shot.
Plus it's all free! (To us anyway - if you're an investor you have my deepest sympathies.)

I guess you've never worked in a development studio? Shave 10 hours off that number for Office Mini Golf, addictive Flash games, hallway sports and extended lunch breaks. |

| There are 36 people in that photo. Estimate 40 hours per week (conservative), that's a little less than 75,000 work hours per year, twelve years of development is about 890,000 hours (more with appropriate programmer caffeine). How can you expect to do anything as a company except fail if you can throw effort like that away ?? That is not a technology problem or a developer problem, that's just bad management. |

The team at 3DR must have dodged a bullet with the implosion of DNF. They were never, truley, going to finish the game. They were just waiting on some worldly event that could use as a reason and excuse to cancel development (maybe so they could concentrate on Northrend or something). Such as the apocolypse, famine, disease, nuclear war, etc. The recession just happened to be a pretty good fit (as the pig zombie flu went bust). |

This has been noted before but it bears repeating. If ever you needed good examples of "fanboy" and "delusional", head over to the 3DR forums. The tone there is that Take Two is run by child-rapist Nazi demons from hell because they wanted to get some sort of return on their investment. How Dare They!
It's sad and funny at the same time. |
