How about some HD video clips. that one clip is nice but I'd love to see some HD clips that let battles play out.
Game looks awesome. |

I don't see a release date, or price point. Any specifics available on that stuff Cliffski?

There are reasons (to be revealed later) why the battles are hands-off, but it might be something I could add (an RTS mode) at some later stage. I remember the first time I played "combat mission" - you'd have a planning phase where you told all your units to do stuff, then the computer would calculate what happens and play the action phase.
You could rewind and watch this over from all angles etc, then when you're happy you moved to the next planning phase, and so on.
Was a pretty interesting take on things. |

looks neat to me, but doubt I would buy it. Looks almost like a screen saver.
Also reminds me of the Steven Eisler books like Space Battles and Space Wrecks. |

I wouldn't be surprised if we sorted that out. This is a totally different game to GalCiv and Sins and I think would work well alongside them. |

I'm skeptical about watching battles unfold.. I'd prefer the AI to be able to do its own thing, but you can get as involved as you want and give them commands throughout the battle.
Imagine feints, all out attacks, objectives, capture the flagship! etc. |

Yep. That's what I think - I guess cliff thought the game style was good enough to duplicate and sell. Kind of feel bad for the BF programmer - because his game was very cool and different even though the graphics weren't high end. |

I wasn't criticizing this game, but the lack-of genre for Sci Fi space action games. Most space games now look like they could be played on a low grade cell phone and we're supposed to be happy while ever other genre is gettin eye poppin next gen graphics.
Maybe with Star Trek, Avatar and other movies sci-fi is making a come back and will interest publishers |

Where the fuck do I put my money!?
Those battles looked awesome. Not sure what the game looks like out of combat or how you manage large fleets and what not but that looked awesome.
I WANT IT NOW. |

thanks for the news Blue! Certainly looking forward to this title!
It's probably built ontop of the Battleship Forever engine, with a better skin. |

If Cliffski stops by: will GSB likely show up on Impulse? What, and compete against GalCiv2 and Sins? I doubt it...IMO, the space-strat-management genre is getting saturated already. Now it starts getting goofy, like Inifinte Space was. *shudder*
Sorry, yes I'm bitchin' at a good thing, but I can't help it. I miss MOO and SpaceEmpires and I'm really itchin' for a remake (of all things) ST: Birth of the Federation. Say what you will about it, I've spent double as many hours with it than GalCiv2 and SE4 combined! Just something about it kept me playing...
