| Thunderhead keep is much easier now. King Ironhammer doesn't act like such a retard anymore, and there are far less of those Mursatt (sp?) guys wailing on you. The Crystal Desert missions have also been made far easier over time. |

I found the game to be absolute garbage in every way save for the pretty background graphics of areas you couldn't get to because you were on rails.

Four years, and still no damn auction house or any other proper means of selling/trading items to other players. Until they do, I have no desire to waste another minute or another dollar on this junk.
Honestly, if this game had a monthly fee like real MMO's they'd have maybe 1/10 as many people playing it as they do now. |

Thunderhead Keep! Four years later and I still have the occasional nightmare about that mission. Damn. Why did you have to say those 2 words? I nearly had a seizure when I read that...
<shudder>
edit: I'd actually managed to block it out until you brought that up...

I managed to finish “Prophecies” and “Eye of the North” without ever grouping. The former isn’t that hard with heroes, if you’re willing to skip some bonus objectives, but the last few missions in EoTN were particularly heinous.
Finding some humans (without fetal alcohol syndrome) is strongly recommended if you want to beat EoTN without going insane. |

sweetness, especially on the storage bag and the HoM
p.s. The henchman AI and skill utilization has gotten drastically better due to numerous updates over the past four years. Heroes can be extremely powerful (and in virtually all cases preferable to a retarded human player). There is still the occasional area where you need advanced human tactics (the crystal-running mission, many bonus objectives). But you can easily play through the entire game with occasional help from one other human player. I've never had trouble finding someone, even as a random pickup. |

nice additions for a 4 year old game -free extra character storage bag for armor and weapons -free promotional storage pane (let's hope it's not a "buy something and you get it for free"-promotion) -4 purchasable storage panes (the price is too high, since you can buy a character slot with double storage capacity for the same amount of money) -a zoo for your pets (basically a pet storage, pvp chars finally being able to use others pets than elder wolves) -daily objectives will liven up some otherwise dead areas -not in the announcement: the Hall of Monuments will be changeable to account view

I remember there were some missions in the game (original, before expansions) that were impossible without a human party because the henchmen were woefully underpowered for the mission. Thunderhead Keep! Four years later and I still have the occasional nightmare about that mission. It was also one of the very few missions I never got the bonus on.
I had a blast with Guild Wars and played regularly for a couple of years (right around 1000 hours IIRC). To date it's the only MMO-ish game I've ever gotten into. |

I had my mission sabotaged by the children I was paired with because I wouldn't give them my loot.
That sucks. It is best to talk in the team chat about what everybody is expecting from the mission --loot, mission completion, bonus, etc-- before starting. Otherwise everybody is just wasting their time.
Did they ever improve the henchmen or matchmaking? I don't think so. If you have the Nightfall or Eye of the North expansions you can use up to 3 heroes (henchmen) at a time that you can configure with the skill build of your liking, meaning you can customize the build against the particular enemies of the mission. Solo is doable but tough. Two people with good heroes works much better. |

Problem is, most people got through those parts before I did, so there were very few groups to join. Effectively you were stuck at these missions if you didn't have any trusted people to play with. Did they ever improve the henchmen or matchmaking?

I love this game, and to date it is the only MMO-style game I have played long-term. I will definitely be logging back on for the anniversary events, and I'm looking forward to GW2 someday! |

I'm not sure why, but I just hate this game. Did the beta weekends, bought the Collectors Edition but have tried roughly 5 times to get into this game and I just can't do it.
Am I missing something or what? |
