Wolfenstein Screenshots?

Photobucket has a bunch of screenshots purported to be from Raven's upcoming Wolfenstein game. The images are labeled copyright id Software, but Shacknews has not gotten a reply from them about the authenticity of the shots, and while Activision did not confirm them as authentic, they did not deny them either.

Could that be referring to the netcode?

IW tore out the renderer, obviously, and replaced it with their own, completely proprietary one (Quake3 never used DX for rendering). A lot of the core stuff is still there.

http://aigamedev.com/source/call-of-duty-4-tools mentions a few similarities.

How is this news anyway? Or more to the point, why is it portrayed as such a big deal? We have already seen screen shots of this upcoming game ages ago... and even a trailer!!

Woopie!

Meaning they based enough code off id's to necessitate a disclaimer.

Could that be referring to the netcode?

CoD4 claims to be an all new proprietary engine, But in the fine print on the box and jewel case there is a disclaimer that says, software technology from Id software. Meaning they based enough code off id's to necessitate a disclaimer.

Did well enough for CoD4, despite what some people here may want to argue.

I thought the only CoD game in the series which used ID Tech 3 was the first one and it's expansion whereas Modern Warfare used a proprietary engine.

There's nothing to argue, because you're wrong. Why in the world would you think CoD4 used the Quake 3 engine? CoD4 used a completely proprietary engine.

The screenshots look like they're from 2002... pretty backwards. Then again, they look in line with the previous shots / scans / videos that were released. This game is going to be weak at best... complete waste of the IP.

The screenshots are labeled copyright by "iD" which leaves me a little suspicious. They didn't register their business under that name, did they?

All my game boxes have "id" no capital letters. Any copyright information says idsoftware

Also, Raven would make more sense. They are the primary developers.

Seems like a lame way to drum up interest... those shots look pretty boring.

And yeah, there seem to be quite a few people out there who still misspell id as iD, so that's a dead giveaway.
