F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin Patched

Steam now offers an automatic patch for F.E.A.R 2: Project Origin, offering fixes and tweaks for Monolith's first-person shooter sequel. Here's the change list:

    • Difficulty of Hard mode has been increased
    • Implemented a toggle for switching between widescreen (16:9) and full screen (4:3) in the Options|Performance|Advanced Settings menu
    • Implemented a toggle for head bob in Options|Game Settings
    • Implemented a toggle for film grain in the Options|Performance|Advanced Settings menu
    • Leaving a multiplayer lobby now returns the player to the associated multiplayer menu instead of the front end main menu
    • Applied fix for energy weapon audio causing lag
    • Applied fix for team balancing host options not being applied properly
    • Changing team swap during selection and grace periods to swap at the next spawn
    • Applied fix for team name showing as "undefined" after swapping teams

I'm still trying to get the hang of quoting so if i screw it up then bear with me:

I can play any FPS with an analog stick, if you lack the skills and co-ordination to do so then hey dude, your loss. The mouse makes it easier but I don't play twitch games like Quake anymore where that matters, I play mostly online shooters and co-op FPS games. Also isn't Quake Live some rehash of Quake 3???

Wait, wait. So you complain about the PC lacking exclusives and proper publisher support... then you go and buy a console? That won't exactly make any publisher change their PC practices. If you want publishers to take PC gaming more seriously, you need to buy more PC games and less console games.

no thanks, they won't make the PC games I want anymore and if I'm just gonna get ports I might as well get all the exclusives too. Mass Effect wasn't even a PC game, that was a port. Same with Fallout 3. I get tired of waiting months just to get a PORT. You're waiting months just to get what consoles finished playing ages ago and moved onto other games.

I don't feel the need to defend my opinion on selling the games I spent hard earned money on if I want to. It's a pretty basic right in my country. I don't need to do anything for the developers, I already bought their game for full retail price.

BTW, you complained about exclusive DLC earlier. Now you mention that you're playing Fable 2 which means you have a 360. You know why the DLC for GTA4 and TR:U isn't on the PC? Because Microsoft paid large sums of money to have it exclusive to 360. You complain about PC shortcomings and then you support the companies that create these shortcomings.

It's not my job to support the industry. Gaming is my hobby, not my job. I pay them money to give me what I am looking for entertainment wise. They stopped doing that on the PC. That's PC publishers fault, not mine. How come there is no big PC publisher doing that on the platform? Why didn't someone else offer more money to release them on the PC? If no one in the industry cares enough to fight for it, why should I? Screw that. This isn't a religion, it's games. It's a pretty simple formula - entertain me or I find somewhere else to be entertained.

In fact the only games I even care about playing for this entire year on the PC are Starcraft 2 and Diablo 3. I can do that on a 3 year old machine. So in the end I get the best of both worlds anyways.
