Forget that these companies are violating / invading your machine with their bullshit.... you defend them blindly because "they have the right to protect their IP"... well, as users we have the right to protect our hardware investments from their bullshit, too.
And yet again for the last time, you can exercise that right by not purchasing their software. No one makes you buy a game, you do. You buy their game and agree to their terms in the EULA/ToS then you give up that right. If they want to infest their stuff with malware then so be it, speaking with your wallet is a far more effective method. You critize "pro-DRM folk" and yet YOU are pro-DRM. Buying games with DRM just encourages more of the same to continue. Pirating games just sends the message for them to come up with more effective piracy control methods or yet more invasive malware.
I don't mind DRM, most of it never affects it me so I buy games with it. I don't rail against DRM then turn around, buy a game with it then crack it and then jump up on the moral highground about it.
If you really care about getting rid of DRM, don't buy games with it and don't pirate them either. That's the only way to send an effective message. Games don't thrive without communities these days and there would be none for these types of products if people would just actually stick to their principles instead of railing about it on forums then turning around and doing the opposite. No one wants to do that because then they might miss out on some fun games apparently but games will be around for the entirety of your lifetime, I assure you.
I can tolerate DRM so this doesn't affect me. Apparently you guys cannot so perhaps its time to look for a better method of combating it since indignant forum posts obviously aren't going anywhere.
