| It was the Cartoon Network float, so no doubt this was Adult Swim's idea. |

My god... there were no fewer than 50 people lined up outside the local Best Buy here about 15 minutes ago. (Yes, I drove by there out of curiosity.... some had tents!)
It's insane, I tell you... but that's greed, I guess.
I'll be sleeping in, anyway.
EDIT: Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone!

ok - so I am watching the half time show for teh Cowboy's romp on the other team that decided not to show up today -
Imagine the pain of being a full time Seahawks fan .... I am actually a Seahawks fan, but being that I am not even remotely near the area - it isn't as painful. Being disconnected helps a lot. hehehehehe |

It's Thanksgiving - - eat whatever you want! In mass quantities!!! I do that every day, I just want one of them to be a state-sponsored national holiday which includes a day off work. However as turkey day is intrinsically bound to family I can't up and make whatever I want.
To be fair, this year I levied and passed a request for mashed potatoes in lieu of (gross) au gratin. So it wasn't all bad. But it wasn't magically delicious veal parm.
American food sucks. |

Where's the fucking holiday where you eat mass quantities of veal cutlets??? It's Thanksgiving - - eat whatever you want! In mass quantities!!!
Hey Warpig, we used to live in a house that was at the end of a street, and our bedroom was right on the end of the house next to the street. And the street was on a downhill. I always wondered what would happen in winter if a car couldn't stop due to icy roads and went right thru our bedroom wall. Talk about waking up dead.
I'm glad we moved ....

I agree, normally PHJF. Not a fan of turkey. But this year we did a Cajun Turkey from Popeyes. It was really quite good.
Plus, I always enjoy a meal that has corn and mashed potatoes. Mix them together and deliciousness ensues.
Happy Thanksgiving to all! |

Yep, happy Thanksgiving everyone!
This morning I have a little something extra to be thankful about because the little Nissan pickup that jumped the curb last night doing 30mph was stopped three feet from my bedroom wall when it hit the large arborvitae tree that grows at the corner of my house!
My house is at the end of a "T" in the road and the kid thought he was on the through street that's one block east of me. That, and his window defroster wasn't working very well which I believe was the main problem. He was shaken and embarrassed (and sober) but otherwise OK.
It was around 6:00 and I was just sitting in my living room when I heard, and kind of felt, what I thought was a really big wreck in the street. So I run outside and can't believe that I don't see a wreck because, like I said, I was looking out at the street. It took a couple seconds to realize that there was a truck a couple feet to my left with a slightly dazed kid climbing out! Now my lawn has two perfectly straight tracks leading to the tree that are very faint at first because I'm pretty sure his front end came well off the ground after hitting the square curb on the sidewalk. If he would have been able to swerve I'd probably be on the local news today.
So anyway, he calls 911, then his mom (who works as a 911 operator), both his parents show up, they then call an uncle or something who has a car trailer, the uncle brings at least six more family members basically just to laugh at the poor kid... it was an interesting night.
