Wheelman in February

Midway announces that February 16, 2009 is the worldwide shipping date for Wheelman, saying the upcoming driving/action game starring a digitized Vin Diesel will be available for Windows, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 by February 20. The game is co-produced by Diesel and being developed by Midway in partnership with Diesel’s video game production company Tigon Studios (Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher Bay). A long-term goal is to create a movie based on this game, which is based on movies to start with, as word is: "Inspired by Hollywood’s most famous action-sequences, Wheelman will deliver powerful cinematic moments throughout the game’s compelling storyline."

Midway is totally dead. I doubt they'll be around this time next year.

With this game and This Is Vegas, I think we're witnessing the days of Midway. The amount of crap coming from them is amazing.

"Nobody wants to be nobody in America. Ed is the apotheosis of a prevailing American syndrome. It used to be that someone became famous because they were special. Now people are considered special just for being famous. Fame, itself, is its own virtue.

I hope it isn't, but I'm predicting a tremendous critical flop. It will still probably sell well because it will have a colorful box.

Everything I've seen so far has been sensationally dull, "been there, done that" looking--and in many aspects, at least five years ago.
