Ships Ahoy - UK Call Of Duty: World At War

Call Of Duty: World At War Ships In The UK is the press release announcing Treyarch's World War II shooter sequel has arrived in the UK following its release in US, reversing the order of entry of the two nations in the actual second world war: "Call of Duty: World at War takes players to a grittier WWII than ever before – from facing down Imperial Japanese Banzai charges and guerilla tactics in the Pacific – to exacting ruthless revenge as you beat back the enemy all the way to the steps of Berlin one bloody inch at a time. In addition to introducing franchise-first four-person cooperative gameplay, Call of Duty: World at War serves up a host of new enemies/tactics and a cache of weapons, like the flamethrower. The highly-anticipated title also delivers deep multiplayer action that features squad and vehicular combat, as well as a lush audio landscape set in 5.1 surround sound, accompanying cinematically-intense, high-definition graphics."

I'm an old Q3/Enemy Territory player and haven't checked out any of these new-fangled games yet though I do like reading peoples opinions on them.

I am too...but wow, even though my tastes in games goes back to that era, I'm not so stuck in it I can't appreciate what's new.

CoD:WaW is most deinately my favorite game this season! I was so impressed with the excellent single player (especially the coop) this game deserves the same amount of attention than IW's CoD releases. As I said in a previous post this is the best CoD since the original by far and it made WWII games fresh again. I liked it so much I bought it twice one for myself and one for my son. We've had a great time playing through CoOp and playing MP this weekend I can't remember the last time I've had this much fun gaming.

I hope it ends up selling well on the PC platform so Activision never thinks about excluding any future CoD titles for the PC. Scumbags like Caveman that brag about pirating deserve to get shit on for almost ruining PC gaming.

Playing the SP story line with 3 other friends via COOP online is just awesome with CoD5, instant classic. I've been having a blast with MP also, WELL worth the money for the COOP alone.

Ahh, see. That wasn't so hard.

I'm an old Q3/Enemy Territory player and haven't checked out any of these new-fangled games yet though I do like reading peoples opinions on them.

From what he wrote down and posted, I think he's saying:

Left 4 Dead sucks compared to Call of Duty 5's awesome Zombie three player mode on a lan.

The single player campaign is more boring and linear than any he's ever experienced before.

The multiplayer aspect of CoD5 blows solar winds across any other version of CoD that he's played, especially version 4.

He likes bolt action weapons.

He plays modded versions (like myself, I'm partial to ETPro) and is probably finacky and a bit elitist.

At least he explained his opinion and probably has a good idea what he's talking about.

To each their own. So there's your answer to 'WHAT???'.

Yup, i mean CoD4 MP was awful. Full of noob friendly junk, ie perks, stun nades, air strikes, helicopters, no skill weapons. Basically it took all the skill out and replaced it with spammable weapons to make it friendly to console gamers.

CoD5 is far superior, the bolts actually take skill instead of spraying and praying, like every gun CoD4 save the M16. CoD5 is superior simply because it offers bolt action (skilled) weapons back in the game. It might not be better then VCOD / DoD pre-source but its the best MP game to come out recently.

but the MP is stellar, a lot better then the disaster CoD4,

Either this isn't in English or the structural integrity of his planned sentence failed on a massive level. There is no way he could possibly have meant to infer that CoD4 is bad multiplay, so I ask...

WHAT????

(slowly so you can hear)

I THINK HE SAID:

CAN YOU HEAR IT NOW OR DO YOU NEED A 'WAIT' before your 'WHAT???', and a 'THIS.' after IT?

I bet he pirates everything and that "all games are shit" according to him. How else can he justify leeching his games off honest people?

Here are some more games I've pirated, Far Cry 2, Mass Effect, Spore, Aquaria, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Resident Evil 4, Gears of War. Want me to go on? Loser.

@Caveman - What a tool. You sir have no right to complain about any quality in PC games.

agreed, L4D's Doom like spawning of "zombies" is lame, this really seems to shallow for a "Valve" game, but then again Turtle Rock has only produced garbage. To call them "zombies" is a disgrace to all zombie fans.

CoD's zombie mode is fantastic, new lan champion IMO, its super fun with 3 friends. Good real zombies and what other game has you barricade and defend yourself against zombies? More maps would be nice, but still the best reason to BUY CoD5.
The SP is really bad, more linear then again game i can think of, but the MP is stellar, a lot better then the disaster CoD4, in fact best CoD game since the original thanks to bolt action rifles again, I just can't wait for the ProMod to come out!

"Left 4 Dead is the new king of cinematic games"

Are you serious??? L4D is the most boring, overrated game i've played in a while. The zombies in COD: WaW are more scary, more threatening, and they don't die by the 10000's. COD: WaW zombie mode is an extremely well thought out mini-game ( not "tacked on" as someone said here ). You guys should try playing it ( rent it or whatever ) and form your own opinions rather than listen to the IW cockgobblers in here.

Caveman's getting a room, an 8x12 jail cell.

lol

If it's so funny, go ahead and post a complete list of the games and movies you've pirated - unless of course you're scared to? If you fail to provide such a list, I'll take that to mean you're afraid.

This is a good start:

Here are some more games I've pirated, Far Cry 2, Mass Effect, Spore, Aquaria, Bionic Commando Rearmed, Resident Evil 4, Gears of War.

I played the demo and thought the graphics were worse than COD4, which doesn't make any sense to me

Different developers. Does *that* make sense to you?
