On the flip side...are people that impatient that they can't wait a few hours or a day for the patch to hit Steam? The previous patch was released last Wednesday - it never made it on to Steam and already there's a new update. It's simply unacceptable, particularly when Civ4 updates are always immediate... I'm playing with it before it's even posted on Blues.
On a side note, good to see that they're adding new rendering features before they fix the actual game itself. That's very helpful. Yeah, pretty bizarre. There are so many balancing issues / bugs that need to be addressed first, especially when the in-game economy is still broken and night is still absurdly long considering you can't see anything (mandating night vision, which isn't even available on all suits). FarCry 2 had a more usable night (perhaps a bit overly bright) and the ability to change game time, which made for a much better experience.
I really hope they continue with their support of the game and actually try to address some of the issues, instead of skirting around them and introducing new graphical features / pathways (which are absolutely great but only in addition to the necessary fixes).
I was waiting on the patch to replay the game. |
