Blue: thanks for the info on user history.

re the data. Yeah its not worth the legal hassle. Keep in mind that IGN could sue regardless of if they are justified in doing so. And a big legal controversy right now is if you can copyright "databases" of data thats otherwise perhaps publically availible. For instance, MythTV and the TV listings, I know there's been legal things involved there.

It doesn't make sense for blue to risk any of that to satisfy one users curiosity. Sorry

IGN can not own a list of games release dates. That is all I want really.
Not as such, but if that list would be a direct extract of the data that was part of the original sale, then we'd get into the legal interpretation headaches that I just have no interest in getting involved with. I'm not saying IGN would actually bother to try and prove whether such a list is an extract or not, only that I have better things to do than to run that risk.

Btw, MobyGames has a lot of release date info, and you can also try digging into archive.org for old snapshots of 3D Gamers.

Nice one! I just noticed this now.
Great catch! It is, after all, in a totally inconspicuous spot, right next to the post button, and also was formally announced... a week ago. Rolleyes2

You would not happen to have and old copy of your site with that list? It would be awesome to have that list (even without links to more content).
When we sold the site, that included all its content and the rights to that content. So even if I were able to put back that list online, it might be illegal to do so, depending on how strictly IGN would interpret of those rights. I'm just not going to bother to find out.

That would have been in vein, as I didn't have time for all this back then.

Speaking of back then.

The thing I loved about your old site before you sold it (and then it become another clone site) was that you could list games by years, and further deep.

Even if it had to be hosted on a site like *shudders* MySpace, having access to that list would be awesome.
Blue might even allow a list like that to be hosted on his site?

I think SHIFT 3 is a repost, but a very good game.

I'm not sure if I've seen the very well done Batman v Toy Story vid on here:

I dont think spiders have skin, they have a chitinous carapace if memory serves me right. As for the bird it looks for lack of a better word....dead.

Something about that photo feels fake. Like the spider looks like some sort of model? Like it looks plastic? Like it doesn't have "fleshy" skin? And the same thing with the bird. I think I'll believe it if there was actual video footage.

If you have ever been put under general anesthesia for surgery, then you have a sense of what the non-existence of death means. One moment the anesthesiologist is putting a mask over your face and asking you to breathe and count to ten. You might get to 3 or 4, and then, immediately you are waking up in the recovery room with no perception of any time passing whatsoever, even though your surgery might have taken hours. At least to me, this experience of "lost ime" was much different than even a deep, dreamless sleep.

Don't really need that article, this video is plenty enough to explain death.
