Out of the Blue

I have the second appointment for my root canal today. I'm hopeful this means it is the minor, not painful portion of the program, but I have to admit to myself that my instincts tend to be 100% wrong on this topic. Any dental work I imagine will be routine is traumatic, and vice versa. But you must have known I was not a great fool, you would have counted on it, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me. No wait, I've gotten off track there.

For what it's worth the second part of a root canal I had done recently was the less traumatic part.
Session one involved most of the de-rooting, where as the second visit was somewhat of a cleaning and final de-rooting, by which time the tooth no longer had any feeling anyway.
The most traumatic part of it all is paying the bill.

I too fear dental woks. Any wok not made by the Chinese must be inferior, and can very well lead to trauma.

Your fear is irrational. Your dentist has science and experience behind him. You have nothing to fear. That stuff is routine as it gets for dentists.

gl with the appointment. Yeah I know what you mean about being wrong as to how it will go. Here's a good practice to help. Pay total attention to your breathing when you feel the anxiety. It works. Good meditation..
