Out of the Blue

For a tackle football fan, Sunday without a game for your team is a little disorienting. I managed to make it through yesterday with no withdrawal symptoms, as the Giants play tonight. They haven't always been so stellar over the years on Monday Night Football, but hopefully they'll acquit themselves properly tonight.

Tackle Links: Thanks Ant and Mike Martinez.
Link: Top 5 Outstanding Wall Climbing Robots.
Story: Disney classic Bambi named top 'tear-jerker' film of all time. I can't watch it.
Images: Pee If You Dare!
Media: Marriage Proposal via Video Games.
The Big Bang Theory Video- Dragon Fodder.
A Night Time Ride In Knight Rider's K.I.T.T.

Btw, I also fixed the smiley parsing (by requiring spaces around them) so that the long link in post #5 isn't botched anymore, along with a few other formatting glitches.

Test a really long link

Okay, that seems to work now. The link inside the tag can be embedded in double quotes (like vBulletin does it), but that's not required (like phpBB).

I expect it to be everything and more than GTA4.

Cool. That's what I wanted to hear!

Woot - Saints Row 2 tomorrow

So, all I know about this one is what I saw on a recent TV commercial. It looks like a GTA clone, and I don't mean that in a bad way because I wouldn't mind a good GTA clone to tide me over until GTA4 comes out. What are you expecting?

Did you play SR1?
I expect it to be everything and more than GTA4.

Oh, and it has 100% co-op for the Single Player campaign.

Going to get my copy right now actually.....going to get the 360 one, and probably pick up the PC version for MODS down the road.

/edit: And did anyone see the NEW GTA4 commercial? At the end is says, "And now coming soon to the PC".

It could be worse Blue, you could be a Seahawk fan and have the bye week be one of your season's high points. Wall

What else - let's see, the Mariners had their worst season ever (and that's saying A LOT), the Washington Huskies are 0-5, the Washington State Cougars may be the worst division A team in the nation, and to top it all off the Sonics were sold down the river by Clay Bennett and his good buddy David Stern. Wall2

Tear-jerkers - as far as Disney goes, nothing gets to me like the scene where Dumbo visits his chained up mom... I can't even bring myself to think about it.

Show's at best a diamond in the rough with potential to hit a very niche, untapped audience.

Which equals FAIL for most shows that try and do that.

They go for advertising dollars, therefore, be happy with what you can get while they reel in the sheeple.

Thats funny, greatest 'tear-jerker'. I saw that when I was about 6 years old, must have been somewhere around 1979 it was back in theaters.

Think it was 1967 when I first saw it, by 1979 I was living in Alaska pounding down way to much booze... man I'm old

(Uh, and something goes nuts when I paste that URL in here.. The stuff in front of http:// isn't there when I edit the message)

This is one of the reasons Frans added the new code tag, so you can make it ignore mark-ups.

The Wolowitz character never fails to make me laugh though

Him and Shledon are what make the show.

Big Bang Theory is the WORST show to include a laugh track as most of the jokes I've heard in the first couple episodes would go completely over 99% of the average audience's head, like all the references to physics theories. But then they throw in a base joke to appeal to the idiots watching and my interest falls.

Show's at best a diamond in the rough with potential to hit a very niche, untapped audience.

Something similar to how vbb or phpbb code does it would be nice:
Just a Link

Although i realize this could be abused, people need to be looking at the status bar to see where a link goes nowadays anyway

Now there's a feature we need. One that let's you create a link to a web page without having having the entire URL there to blow up the forum width.

Yeah, I'll see what I can do.

I suggest just using tinyurl - I see rick rolls in our future....

That's a side effect of '& P' in the URL being escaped into '& amp; P', and '; P' then botching up the hyperlinking (the first time), and being converted to a smiley (the second).

Woot - Saints Row 2 tomorrow - got a coupon for 30% extra trade in credit - have a bunch of games that I need to dump anyway. I know I know - it is a ripoff, but no one is going to buy them anyway. Just taking up room.

Now if I only had the next 3 days off.

Thats funny, greatest 'tear-jerker'. I saw that when I was about 6 years old, must have been somewhere around 1979 it was back in theaters. My family was extremely poor back then so my mom basically just dropped me and my 2 year old sister off to watch the movie, she couldn't afford 3 tickets and it was the first movie I can remember going to see.

Ah memories...

I really like Big Bang Theory, but some of the running gags are getting a little stale as they are being over used.

The Wolowitz character never fails to make me laugh though. Rotfl
